i like the stang more than the p or j, but i think i like the jaguars the most of any fender basses. wish they made a SS one.
My Mustang PJ is always the first instrument I reach for when I practice and has become my number one at church. It just feels better in my hands than any of my others.
Hmm seems to be a lot of hooky replicas
Also not aware he played SS
You know who will know
And yes for the purposes of this thread I consider 30" a short scale.
I consider 33 3/4" short scale
Well I fell out of love with my Squier Mustang and yesterday she went to a new , young enthusiastic owner.
I was a little sad to see her go but after cleaning a mountain of dust off of her I think I have made the right decision
Actually I didn’t know the Shergold was 30"
Certainly doesn’t look it in that pix of him
Check out the bridge position. Looks like a full size bass with the bridge pushed up to the mid pickup position on most basses.
Coming in to namm season, should be a couple of additions coming. Let’s start with this (somewhat odd) one:
That’s a strange wee beastie and yet there’s something there that makes me want to give it a try
It’s sorta dork retro cool
Yeah it’s kind of got the same cool retro Jetsons geek vibe going as the Edwards T-whale thing, though I think the Edwards is cooler. But also quadruple the cost of course.
BTW I think a 32" scale is a cool idea, makes it a little easier to play without a big change in sound or learning curve.
Do any of you have experience with the sort scale Stingray? I’ve been thinking about getting one of the Sterlings. I really like my EB-0 and my Mustang PJ and this would make a nice short scale trifecta.
I’ve got the SBMM one. It’s my main go to bass, and that includes my bongo. The bongo is nicer, for sure, but the ss is just easier to play. Looks great, sounds great, easy to play.
Thanks @itsratso. I just pre-ordered one in the Dropped Copper color.
what wait you ordered what…
they have new colors out? for the ss?
damn
And now I’m pissed. I like yours more than mine
Yeah I really like the Yamaha medium scales and the Ibanez ones look killer too. The old Motion Basses are really fun to play, not so different from a full scale to feel smaller, but definitely quicker little things.
Plus, cheap!
