i call it chartreuse
Yeah, this Antigua bass still makes me drool. Something about the Mustang hardware that looks so good in that finish.
I’m sincerely glad there are so many variations of designs/finishes for everyone to choose from.
That said, the Antigua color scheme and bursts are definitely not my cup of tea.
I have to admit, for the first time in months I feel the stirring of GAS
You’re not helping. Bad @MikeC
Hee, hee, hee
Oh, go ahead, Wombat. You know you want to.
That’s the funny thing about that finish! I don’t like the Antigua finish on any other bass or guitar–just the mustang bass. I have no idea why. And interestingly, the only color of Mustang Bass I DON’T like is the black one–just looks hideous to me.
I’d take a look at the Fender Rascals - they are really nice basses, very unique.
Squier took a few ‘shortcuts’ that short change the coolest design elements IMO
The Antigua color/burst conjures up an image of a gas station bathroom.
I think its a cool finish - IF - its on a 40 year old beat up bass.
The newer ones just look too new for such an ‘antiqued’ finish.
Yeah, it’s a thing. Just doesn’t give me a schwing.
But, as always, to each his own.
They do look really cool. The guild bridge and Seymour Duncan pickups are nice, and the 7 switch settings
Hmmm. You have to remove the neck to get at the truss…
Nope. Deal-killer.
You NEVER have to remove a neck to get to the truss rod. Loosen neck bolts, tilt, adjust, done. It’s quite easy. Loosen bridge end bolts ~75%, neck end ~25%.
Not as convenient for sure but it’s a 2x a year activity, and without a doubt a #firstworldproblem.
And look what popped up on talkbass today…
I’ve got 99 problems, but loosening neck bolts to tweak a truss rod will never be one.
