Short Love

Being of Scottish heritage the ability to hold grudges is very well understood :joy:

30" scale. nice.

My only gripe is that it would not be that much shorter than the standard bass, it seems.

30”? Standard short scale, a solid 4” shorter than a long scale.

I like the concept but the design is just mooshed too far towards the neck. Also that neck pocket looks really small. I like the overall shape though.

If they had inset the neck another inch and pushed the bridge back it would look way better.

Yes but the bridge on that short scale is about 2 inches up from the usual place similar to the G&L Fall out short scale. Which has almost the same overall length as a p bass, lol.

I see what you mean.

well after the supreme disappointment of the stingray rollout, music man makes up for it by (finally) showing us this year’s shorty lineup. when they released a guitar last year with that brulee color, I said I would buy a bass with it for sure. problem is, I can’t really afford a new stingray right now. but sooner or later, I’ll have one, because ohmygodwow :face_with_spiral_eyes:

5 minutes later update: I can get it for $130 a month. ehh, eff it. ordered

Nice!!! What color did you get? Their passive pickup is quite awesome.

I did the same on my StingRay Special. Sweetwater had zero percent financing, so I use their money, not mine. Then they reduced the price a further 10-15% just by asking.

that brulee color, which just makes me feel funny in my underwearz

Gorgeous! It’s a Frappuccino a day. If you are anything similar to my wife coffee habits you can have 3 of these, lol.

I like that, but I am also one of those freaks who thinks the Fender Antigua finish is kinda cool.

Antigua definitely is cool…I would love a lefty of this bass

I think you’re being deceived there because Fat Mike can make any bass cool

IMO Antigua is a fine color but just takes bad bursts to a new level. Mike’s there is fine, but with a bad burst, Antigua is kind of a multiplying factor for the bad:

(weird lighting in that shot too.)

The problem there is the burst, not the Antigua. I think Antigua looks great with a darker Antigua burst:

Also, that LP with a Tele bridge pickup, control plate, and P90 neck in antigua is truly some next-level trolling of both Fender and Gibson

yes case by case…fine line between so bad its good and so bad its really bad…I like less black edge and more mustardy color overall

Yeah really it’s the quality of the burst effect that takes it in to the WTF zone.
