I have a Sterling shorty in Olympic White. It’s a wicked little beast.
I saw that before work this morning, no chance to listen to it, I expect it to be an exceptional player for a bass that could use a pickup change. I love that color, have eyed it since NAMM
I posted about a few shorties from ESP and Fender in @Whying_Dutchman’s GAS thread:
It’s not GAS! It is a f#cking needy thing that became an absolute obsession and drives me and everybody near me crazy
dude this is textbook GAS
You sound like my girlfriend, @howard ^^
ty @howard, these are amazeballs
Good news: the Harley Benton MV-4MSB short scale will be in stock again at Thomann beginning next month.
Changes to the previous model:
- (unfortunately) no Gotoh GB7 tuners, but “modern” no-brand ones (whatever “modern” means).
- the long awaited toggle switch for pickup selection - yay!
- Price will remain the same or might be even lower than before (cause: no Gotoh!). EDIT: about 229€
Reviews for the previous model were raving!
Small y keys, not big clovers.
Like this? That would be great - don’t like those old fashioned shapes!
really nice finishes on these
Love the design … but the pickguards … WTF??!
They look an awful lot like mustangs, and like the colors. I wonder if a Mustang pick guard would fit? that’s some unattractive tort
yeah, tort doesn’t do them any favors. Say no to salami!
Also, big bummer they went with Jazz Bass-style control plates (which look universally dumb IMO) instead of a solid pickguard like a P-bass.
got this about a week ago. it wasn’t exactly an impulse buy but pretty close. it’s almost a no brainer considering I’ve often and recently spent more for a pedal. the magnitude of improvement of this over the old kala solid body (which was a POS) is insane, at 1/4 the price. fit and finish is gorgeous, plays great, sounds great, solid features. I have an old cheapo piezo ubass by hadean that I now could put on reverb and make $100 or so, but why? gonna give it to my daughter
and now I own a p-bass
Oh wild, that thing is adorable
