Short Love

I live in Northern Nevada. I’m about an hour and a half south of Reno.
Here is a picture of the tag on the bass:

Damn, dude, you get 45 days to play around with the bass. Just get it. If you don’t dig it, return it. It’s a no-brainer.

But before you snag it, ask for a discount. You’ll likely get one.

I have a Mustang PJ, I have 3 mustangs but one PJ, and I really like it. Only good things to say about it.

It’s pinker in real life

I also have a Squier Mustang which is cheaper but is really nice. A good alternative - especially with the Novak pickup I added (still less than the Fender)

Well, I was trying to not buy any more for a while, but just couldn’t resist. I’m sure it’s gonna need some work, but that’s part of the reason I bought it. 150 bucks, I figured it would be a fun project.

Here’s my pj mustang, I really like it, super playable, sounds great, put a geezer pj set in it and changed the switch to a tone knob. I’d really like to have it back someday. My son took it to his dorm and I haven’t seen it in a while…

Yeah, just ordered it. I’m going to put my EMG Strat pickup on it and see what’s it’s like. Should be quiet and punchy.

Interesting, I figured I’d do a different pickup, please post how that one works out.

Got home today and this was here. First impressions…out of the box it was pretty well set up. I was pleasantly surprised. I did lower the strings and roughly worked on intonation. Didn’t need any truss rod adjusting. I need to get a better tuner but that’s another story. Neck was comfortable, not too thin, not too fat. Not sure if it’s just me but I feel like the string spacing is a little wider than my mustang and I like that. Frets are good, I expected sharp ends, unlevel fret buzz etc. But, it doesn’t seem to need any of that. For 150 dollars, I was kinda blown away. The pickup is fine for home play. I’m sure you could go crazy modding it. I kinda want to put a Fralin 51pbass in it just for s and g’s. But, for the price, it’s an awesome deal in my opinion….
