I am looking to replace the flat wounds my Ibanez SR305e came with for something more “zingy.”
Has anyone used the above strings on their personal bass? What did you think of them overall? They have high marks on retailer reviews, but some have mentioned they have a rough texture and tend to eat frets… I dunno, 
My friend there are hundreds of different bass strings to buy out there.
There will also be hundreds of different opinions on those strings in this forum.
Your best bet is to use the search function on the top right (magnifying glass symbol) and read through the existing answers to similar questions. Some homework for you
Side note - I bought 10 different sets of flats to try on my new bass. I eventually settled on one set that I love (LaBella Low Tension Flats).
I would not have got that data by asking on here. I’d have simply ended up with 20 different answers.
To be fair, those are one of the highest recommended flats in this forum, next to the TI jazz flats.
Yes but my hearing is different to everyone else’s (Probably significantly worse than most on here, thanks to the military). Your opinion or anyone else’s is pretty meaningless to me when it comes to sound.
You like what you like and I may be the same, or different.
It’s all completely subjective. I think strings and trying different ones is part of the learning curve we should all go through in our own way. It’s also fun to try new stuff.

Strings and I’ve got a box of “not it” picks. Thankfully the picks are cheap af.
I bought a used Ibanez GSR 205, that based on the red, white, and blue ball ends, has Rotosound roundwound strings on it. I have been happy with how they sound on this 5-string bass. Definitely brighter than the flatwounds on some of my other basses.
Try them, see if you like them. It’s only strings, which are super subjective

But I got a set on my cort and I like em, they are not expensive So give it a go ..

Not sure about whether or not they’re rough on fretboards or fingers, but I hate the tension.
Other than that, you might want to consider GHS black tapewounds.
Better than any flatwounds I’ve ever played, including those floppy Thomastic Infield flats.
Perfect tension, smooth as silk, amazing tone, and they look good, too.
I played the Rotosounds on a four string, same gauges. I think they work just fine, so try them and see if you like them. They didn’t eat the frets.
You can also go by what your favourite band uses, sometimes there is information to be had.
That would have been a cool comparison video. Of course a lot of work on your end but we would have all appreciated it immensely 
And would have missed my point entirely. What I like re feel / sound isn’t what you like and you need to do your own homework.

I put these on a 4-string for a hot second years ago and disliked them.
Last week I put them on a different bass as an experiment an love them. So, like everything, the answer always is…. Depends
