Should I shoot my new bass? (Modding the Harley Benton MV-4MSB)

Ha ha ha ha ha ha …

Well ….

Best beer outside Belgium ? Impossible.

Belgium Beers are like NBA, NFL, MLB …. No bloody way to beat them.

In the best case … let’s have draw.

Too many good beers not to find the one you like.

Thanx!

There is one thing I really don’t like: tortoise!
Also it was a P/J and now it is a P/H … in my opinion the best combination.

I wish I were a wood worker though. I would like to make a bass where you can see the texture of the wood … like @Wombat-metal’s bass!

I do accept that WA state has top-beers.

I’ve never been to OR.

I’m really looking forward to my Lignum shorty. I am truly clueless in a wood shop, but love the artistry that goes into making a custom base with a natural finish.

Why don’t you visit Lignum and have a personal look, how your bass is made? It’s not far … and Croatia is great!

Gustav promised to do a complete video of my build, since he doesn’t yet have a video of a 5-string fretless short scale build. He said it would take 2-3 months after he finishes the build to get the video up. So, if he finishes my bass around 1 April, the video should be up some time in June.

It’s not that far out of the question now. My wife just said to me last week “what if we moved”. “Where”. Oh yes! We always love Texas as a destination. As you know Austin is at the top of my Texas cities.

I was lucky enough to have all my builds before he’s crazy busy. My first Fretless is #8. I see all the the builds video before I got the basses. They usually sat in the custom for a month.

That’s just one of the advantages of living in the EU. No customs between EU members.

The other is: you could do a roadtrip to Croatia and NEVER show your passport or stop at a stupid border. You can also use €€€ now in Croatia.

EU rocks!!!

@TheMaartian if you go there to pickup your bass in person please let me know. Thanks.

Washington and Oregon are pretty similar now. Oregon is like Washington but with a head start on the beer and more breweries.

If I were to live in Texas it would definitely be Austin or somewhere around it. San Antonio in a pinch but really - no, actually, just Austin.

My only wish is that people of Austin would speak with more southern twang but so far just about everyone I heard from Austin sounds like every Californian :joy:

There’s no place like Austin in Texas.

Dallas is an old-money metropolis in many ways. Houston is a uber-sprawling, anything-goes megalopolis. And San Antonio is arguably a far bigger version of the Rio Grande Valley: conservative and fiercely family-centric.

Austin is special. Our live music scene is and has always been legendary. The culinary scene rivals the best I’ve had in New York, Chicago, New Orleans and San Francisco. And that’s tasting a mouthful.

Austinites are fiercely proud of our town’s famously friendly tradition of being different than anywhere else in Texas, and for accepting newcomers as being friends we just met.

There’s a local bumper sticker that’s been around for many, many years. It reads, “What’re you speedin’ for? You’re already in Austin.”

…which just gets older and monier in some of the burbs…

+1 and don’t forget the swamp

Yeah. And it’s a bummer because it actually has stuff, which was why I momentarily mentioned it… but no, it would have to be Austin.

I could live in Dallas. It reminds me of Denver in a lot of ways. As far as general vibes of a place, I feel pretty comfortable when I’m there. I didn’t hate San Antonio when I was there either, although tbf I never strayed far from the river walk. Austin is terrific. Very different vibe than what most folks think of as “Texas.”
