Which reminds me!

I’ve found the best tonal setting on my ultra jazz now after a few weeks of jamming in the band with it. I’ve found that it needs to really punch through, so these are the desired settings on it now -

I have it in active mode all the time, and also play pretty much every song at the bridge pickup - so I’m sure you can imagine the tone that’s coming out

Totally fallen in love with it since I got it, and I’ve ordered a new fancy dan pickguard for it too!

Good for you, @quadfather . . . :+1:

Glad you’re enjoying it and that you got your tone dialed in . . .

Just picked up this Peavey for $100. I think I like it better than my MM or Ripper.

Which mm do you have? Now I wonder about the peavy.

I like how the color of the fretboard stands out from the sunburst brown of the body. Very nice traditional look

OK, I folded.
Now that I know how to change electronics, and since I had to return that Italia bass, I was still really really wanting a mag/piezo combo bass, and just couldn’t get that ASE MIJ Fender out of my head.

So I went to the little bass shop over the bridge, with the intention of trading in a bass to get that bass, but Jay the owner isn’t big on LTDs, so he passed. So back home I went with 2 vs. 1, and now will try to sell it online instead, or keep it, I will sleep on it.

So… here she is, in really nice shape. Needs a new preamp/buffer (going to go with Bartolini who makes something just for this, and my new project bass is also born…

Jay the owner said his sales are up 60% for the past few months, both new and used. He just received a year’s supply of beginner acoustics and he doubts he will make it til Christmas.

The world is running out of basses! Better go stock up peoples!

I love Peavy. Not better then my Rays, but I really love them.
I almost bought a neck thru Grind, but it was not in good shape when I looked at it.
Josh plays Cirrus, and they are awesome too.

That looks like it could be a Cirrus or the other model that slips my mind right now.

Were you trying to trade you Frank Bello bass?

No no, the other LTD, the ‘Rocco Prestia’ signature one.
I do like it but don’t play it much and thought if I was going to sell any of them it would be that one so decided to see if he would bite. It doesn’t really offer me anything I don’t already have in other basses, but…I do like it. So maybe the bass karma people are telling me keep it.

New cover inbound?

So I was a bit wrong on the model.

This is actually a Fender MIJ HMT.

I knew something had to do with metal.
With the hockey stick head it’s an HMT (Heavy Metal Telecaster). Such an odd name.

Time to clean her up and order new electronics.

That’s one classy looking bass. I love it, congrats! Did you ever take a shot of your rig off to the right of your bass in the pic?

Would love a link whenever you had some time. Looks comfortable with the tilt you having going in the rig.

yeah I was just googling it and confused. now I found it, nice bass :+1:

So what is this thing on the heel of the neck?

There is an extra hole in the plate to access it.
Inside looks like a sheared off screw head.

I feel like I’ve seen this before on other necks but not with a hole to access it.

Fender Rumble Studio 40 and a rediculously over-engineered pedalboard.

I think that’s the bottom of the truss rod end fitting but I could be wrong.

There is actually a nut in there severed off. Assuming not ideal but since I’ve never seen one before I’m not so sure it matters.

Could it have been a shim adjustment?
