Oh, guys like me can’t afford the studio 4. Those start right after a comma appears in the price tag… That’s a custom 4. I think the difference is it isn’t a neck-through.
This is where i hold the line and say i make a great living wage as a journeyman electrician in the ibew.
I want to upgrade, but my gear is good. I should learn to play what i have well. It’s clear i can’t buy ability.
Thank you @JerryP. I bought the BFR KingPin Stingray and a couple of days later got a cancellation email saying someone bought it minutes before me. What? so I went on the tilt and got this and another Ray34 Arriving tomorrow, lol.
Ohhhh, thats a bummer, thats a special stingray. Its just black, butvtgey make it so perfect, and I am not even a big fan of gold, but, man, Music Man comes up with some amazing color schemes, and they do finishrs Soooooooooo good.
Yes I will take a new USA Stingray, A Ray 34 Black Ash, and a pair of Ray 4’s over one dingwall.
I have never played a Dingwall, but the way Albert described the way some FEEL, is exactly how I imagine they would from looking at them.
Kind of stylistic plasticy thing, focused more towards looking cool.
But I am a stingray guy, and a P bass kind of guy and a G&L kind of guy.
If you are a dingwall guy, you probably feel reverse of what I do.
Hey, if you are happy with your bass, it matters not what it cost, looks like, or what brand or knock off logo is on it, it only matters that you are happy, so Stingray, Dingwall, P-bass, Jazz bass, whatever your cup o tea, go for it, and if you like em all, and can, get em.
Dingwall is big enough now and certainly hip enough to have their own logo hardware slap on the Hipshots or whatever brands of their choosing. It’s time that they step up and customize the hardware. They are not passing on the saving to the consumers anyway, why not make it a bit more refine.
Their basses are around for over a decade their pricepoint is about the same as Sandberg but it’s not as prestige in both look and feel, Asian imports or not. I really want to get their Super P but at nearly $5000 shipped, I definitely want to see more company logo somewhere other than headstock and fingerboard inlays.
I was really disappointed in Dingwalls when they were in my hands. For two reasons. First I simply didn’t like the design and tone, and secondly the price point for a Chinese instrument is nuts. I don’t care how much time they spend with “each instrument”. The quality just wasn’t in the feel.
But to each their own in the world of instruments. There a lid for every pot and an ass for every seat.
The grey are a bit too fine for removing gloss of the back of the neck.
The maroon to green (less fine) are where to start.
The white is good for fretboard buffing.
Hi guys been a while since I posted as had some stuff to deal with so bass kind of dropped off but today I picked up my dream bass the 84 jazz bass special pj555 made famous by duff , it’s taken a long time to finally find one and have the cash at the same time but I’m over the moon with it and much prefer it to the duff sig I tried a few months back
Like the kingpin? You and I think alike. I already have the gold anodized Pickguard that would look great with this, it would also looks great with the black screw and black knobs.
Secretly I’m getting a status graphite neck may be Fretless then get the light weight Musicman tuners in black. I ordered w sets of the gold strings but it’s backordered so it’s a waiting game anyways the neck takes weeks for delivery from England.
