Deng that’s good lookin
Really unique looking. I dig it.
That made me happy in my loins
I want this bass just for its name, to be able to say “I own a Thundergun”
Love it @joeike, you will have to let us know how it plays. I think Reverend is under-rated.
Thundergun sounds like someone in the WWE
Good looking bass
It plays really well. The neck is really comfy, similar to a Jazz Bass neck. There are a lot of tones available between the two pickups and the tone knob has a really nice range. I notice more of a difference with the tone knob than any of my other passive basses.
I looked really hard at the Reverand Triad because of the tonal options, but ended going with a custom build with a similar pickup setup instead. I really do think Reverend is under-rated, I think you just got a great bass. Starting to get jealous of your collection
I looked at the Triad as well but I’ve wanted a bass with the P/M configuration for a while. Plus I’m a sucker for a bound fretboard and block inlays.
While I’ve been working on my Warmoth, I came across a really nice Carvin being sold for a very low price. I figured I’d buy it, clean it up, and flip it for a tidy profit. Well, being the dumbass I am, I started playing it and getting attached to it. So, I’ve decided to keep it.
It’s a Carvin B40, passive, from somewhere between 2010 (prior to 2010 the B40 knobs were all straight in a line, the offset tone knob marks it as at least 2010) and 2014 (they did not appear in the 2015 catalog, having been replaced by the JB and PB series).
I would expect nothing less.
Congrats. I hope it brings you much joy.
Right? Thus the “dumbass” comment. The moral of the story? If you’re going to buy a bass to flip… clean it, pack it ready for sale, and DON’T play it.
Nah, man. No dumbass applies to this.
There are aficionados of every brand. You’re a Carvin guy. You love ‘em, and that’s a beautiful thing.
Sigh. I am. And I do.
I might be into this so-called pineapple pizza bass
No surprise there.
Of course I found this in the r/Davie504 thread…
…and the pizza paddle bass. This one I appreciate even more.
The paddle bass is cool! I’m not into 2-strings, but I like the concept a lot.
