@Morkai …I am really liking this new Yamaha! I was nervous at first but I have it sounding the way I want now. The lighter strings have grown to my liking.
woohoo, so glad to hear it ![]()
I’m getting conflicted on different songs. Re-tuning for diff songs is one thing, restringing is a whole different beast…
That second bass is definitely calling louder…
Fact! Having a couple of different bass guitars solves a few problems for sure.
I 100% agree. I have 3:
- Fender P - because of course!
- Squier J - see #1 above
- G&L J - strung differently than #2, and hotter pups, but it gives me the chance to compare #2 and #3.
If there were a #4, it would be some type of bass w/ active pups, again, to have something different with different sound capabilities.
#4 shortscale hollow body, because, just because.
Daughter asked me for this one for her 11th birthday.
I told her that she needs to learn Fur Elise & Smoke on the water on the bass first (She sometimes uses my MM StingRay4)
I will take your suggestion to heart. I love it.![]()
If I’m influential in any way,you can never have too many bass guitars.
I just bought a Ibanez BTB806MS… and I have these on my “wishlist”
For other tonalities, etc, etc, etc.

Lol… @Al1885 is a funny guy… pretty sure he has enough basses to outfit most of the forum. ![]()
Daughter asked if you need the acoustic bass on the left side ![]()
Oh, Al owns a hell of a lot more than that! ![]()
That’s not acoustic though. It’s Kala Ubass. It’s one of the limited run model. I used to have the Hutch Hutchinson model, I gave that to my friend.
Beautiful !!!
Nice colour!
I joined the dark side heheh…
This is a Peavy Millennium BXP 5 string which we picked up for… 20 quid?! Yeah.
Dude said he lost the drive and wanted it out the way and only wanted that amount.
Peavy always have a thing for making stunning basses (Josh’s cirrus for example) in some ways, I think the T40 is stunning lol.
There are some technical kinks to work out, the neck pickup sounds super distorted for some reason (this is a passive bass) but it’s 1000% worth it
Here’s two of my three. A Jackson Dave Ellefson 5 string, and an Ibanez SR506E 6 string. I have a Fender Precision 4 string as well, but it doesn’t see the sun much since I moved up to the extra string(s). (FYI - the pink strings on the Jackson have been changed to blue since this pic was taken)
Looks epic
