Then I did it the wrong way cause I recorded the whole song 6 times!
Oh yes. 6 basses audio.
Recorded the whole cover 6x, and synced good audio with the video then chopped them all up
Wild. I just recorded the parts I wanted each bass for (solo vs bassline)

Nah dude! Thatās not even close
You gotta record audio and video if itās not from the same source then the fun of syncing begins then the editing begins audio mix and bass tracks level have to match which they do perfectly on yours. That takes ridiculous amount of work.
Even if I have the know how, which Iām not even in the same league as you I definitely donāt have your discipline
Very nice, @John_E! Iām sure youāre going to love it!!
Well now that I have had some time with it I have to say I really really really like it.
The Darkglass tonecapsule is really great.
Still gettting used to the pickup settings and what they sound like a bit, but damn, very flexible bass and very very easy to play.
Happy happy about this one, I am a believer @sunDOG

Now Iām a believer
And not a trace
Of doubt in my mind
Iām in love
Iām a believer
I couldnāt leave her if I tried
Iām glad you love it, @John_E!!
I may have a slight problem with impulsivity. Actually, I have a HUUUGE problem with impulsivity. At least this time it didnāt cost much. For some reason, I was looking at my Spector and thought āthis needs black stringsā.
So I got some DR Black Beauties and put them on. Love the way it looks now. Going to take a while to get used the sound and, surprisingly, the feel of these strings.
Sound-wise, theyāre a lot brighter than Iām used to. I tend to play flats on my Fenders. This one previously had the Pure Blues strings, which are my favorite rounds. Iām assuming theyāll change a bit as theyāre broken in but, given itās more of a rock guitar, brighter strings are more appropriate in the grand scheme.
But that brings me to the feel: they squeak. When I pluck them thereās a noticeable squeaky feeling on the fingers. Thereās not audible sound, mind you, just the feel. Itās like dragging your fingers along a super smooth and clean surface. The little vibrations. Itās a bit distracting. Havenāt gotten used to it yet. Hoping to get used to it the more I play and maybe as I get them broken in that will go away or what have you.

I have the opposite experience as Iām a predominantly rounds player. I have black beauties on a few of my bass. They feel good but just a tad dull to my taste a bit of a woody feel but sounds ok.
I swear I donāt have GAS, I just had to have the Jr. Jet in Broadway Jade too
I hate to be the one to stage the intervention, but if you are up to four and have two of the same model, you have at least at some point had GAS
New Bass day, and a bit of a scare
Box was smashed at some point during the journey. Never underestimate the value of a well packed bass
It seems to have taken no harm
I havenāt had a chance to play it too much, but initial impressions, what I like:
- The texture. The grooves in the wood on the body are very tactile. And everyone knows grooves are in the heart
- The Gotoh Res-o-lite tuners are super precise and light
- The nut is nice
- Good fretwork
- fit and finish perfect
- Sounds nice, though I havenāt really put it through its paces yet. Herbie has a super hot pickup, and I had the gain and volume low. Will report more later.
- Weighs a bit under 7 pounds (I think the comfort strapp is over kill but I like the strap anyway)
What I donāt like. No convenient place for a thumbrest. But as I am going to do primarily picking going forward, not a big one.
Love to chat, but itās calling me.
It looks even nicer in daylight, damn it. Just glad the double P doesnāt come in that color anymore. My Reverend has really hot pickups also, especially the back 2.
@Wombat-metal that is a truly spectacular instrument. I really like this maker.

Yeah itās a keeper. Seems to be a ma and pa shop.
Congrats, Wombat. Iām glad it made its way to you safe and sound.
So much awesome gear. Husband already has a spot on the wall if I ever buy a new bass so we can keep the old one as a functional art piece. He has more GAS than I have and he doesnāt even play.
yeah iām not in the market for anything but if i were these would certainly be on a very short list.
Hot damn thatās even more gorgeous in the sun!
