Funny you mention sustain and such, I am sorely tempted to put the Stringjoy rounds back on my bass VI and also the trem then I can sustain and bend with my wiggle bar, perhaps while eating pineapple pizza with sriracha
Or aioli with flats, for an especially meaty tone.
Note: I started the condiments thread, too.
It used to be one of our favs until my little one started rebelling against society proclaiming all must embrace the ham and pineapple.
For a little while I wondered if I did him irreparable harm. Fortunately heās normieād up and prefers just cheese now. We tend to be a little punk rock with a lot of things in this household.
Holy crap Iām amazed my sustain comment resonated with the forum so much. It really set the tone.
All jokes aside I needed to see all of this BS tonight. Had a rough practice and this put me tight back to smiles. Thanks Bass brothers!
Dude, when you want to put on your waders and slog through the s-word-morass, just do a forum search for it.
Far better yet, just pick up your beloved bass instead and blow that topic off. You will be the beneficiary of time better spent.
You can improve sustain with the right nut too
Nice bass you wonāt regret this
Yeah, and it keeps on ringing tooā¦ā¦.
pervert
Iāve talked myself out of this bass several times, but it kept coming back to haunt me. I was just enamored by the manly color (Periwinkle). The color looks a bit different from the Sweetwater listing, and even these photos, but I gave up trying to get a color accurate image in my poorly lit dungeon.
Iām quite pleased with it. It was pretty much setup out of the box. I just tuned it up. Even the intonation was pretty spot on Ping, Pang, Ding, Dong! The A harmonic was a little sharp, but Iāll worry about that later. Looking forward to spending some quality time together.
edit I guess I should mention what it is. Itās a Reverend Decision P. (The P is not for periwinkle, it comes in other colors )
Great looking Alembic. 35ā scale?
what a great looking bass
Ok Sterling Sterling,
Iāve not played a note on it but I have the feeling that this would be a good one.
Thank you, Iāve spent more time trying to figure out where Iām going to put it than I have playing it. Hope to remedy that this week.
Did it come like that? You could claim the weight of the extra decal is causing severe neck dive. Get a nice discount
Superb build in terms of playability but aesthetic can use a little uniformity. Itās about 8 pound which is noticeably lighter than the Sterling Joe Dart that I just got a couple of weeks ago.
Tone wise itās very Joe Dart than the original SB14. The passive pickup is excellent love the Bongo style ramp on the screw tabs. The tone is decidedly mid forward very nasally and the tone knob does not have wide range.
I just love the limited range of tone and itās would stand out in front way in front of the mix.
Oops, I did it again. This time, a Hohner Professional B Bass IV - I think, the āstandardā version, which was produced in the ā90s. I have seen B Basses with a Steinberger bridge, this bass doesnāt have that, but given the headstock, I donāt think the Steinberger bridge is really necessary! Anyway, if anyone can enlighten me, that would be fantastic!
This bass is in mint condition, I think itās hardly been played as there are absolutely no marks on it and the plastic protection film was still on the truss rod cover! After a quick tweak of the truss rod itself, a lowering the strings and sorting out the intonation, it plays beautifully! Very bright and full, with both pickups and the preamp on. The preamp allows the bass and treble to be played with. It sounds really nice with the at treble 50% or at zero. Turn the preamp off and the bass goes into passive mode, but seems to lose tone control - need to properly play with it - but still very usable though.
For the money I paid for it, Iām very pleased!!
Sadly, it is one in, one out thoughā¦!
Very nice! Next cover with this?
