Ngh… those are hawt. I’ll keep those in mind. Maybe someday, but not now. Especially not at those prices. On top of the Reverend I just bought, I could also get a Sire P5R, and a Boss effects board for that money.
(I’m very tempted to get those things, but I should probably hold off a bit. And I don’t think my wife would appreciate me bringing home two basses back-to-back.)
I bet they’d ship to you. Seems like a super cool small company. Value wise, I think they are a great deal. If I had the choice between buying an upper end new fender (am pro II or comparable) or an offbeat, I’d buy the offbeat. Here’s mine…
Ah … I skimmed over their website quickly, but soon went somewhere else, cause the sheer beauty of those basses was too much for me. Didn’t even notice the EMG pickups - which I totally and absolutely love (especially the active ones).
They better not!
No, I went to all stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression and finally acceptance) when I really wanted a Reverend bass. First I couldn’t get it here, and when Thomann finally offered the bass I wanted for an OK price, I had moved on to getting cheap but good basses and mod the hell out of them. I found my reason to live in that
They have a few with Frailin mini’s. Their O series uses Tonerider. I don’t know anything about the tone riders. Mine has a gzr butler PJ set. It sounds great.
I had the EMG GZR and the DiMarzio DP126 on two different basses (same model though) … and went to active EMG PJX. Easy drop-in change. BIG difference.
You could make an already excellent bass even better. Just saying
I’ll bet money thta pop was the string hitting the magnet on top of the J pickup. You can try it out without slapping. Just press the string down till it hits the metal sticking out of the top of the pup. Does it on mine. I tend to do that while I’m fiddling.
I just realized the Triad and SB-2 share the same body (I feel like Al digging basses out of the shed to post pics of for folks).
I think they use that body for the majority of their solidbody basses.
I don’t know if it was coming in full contact or just really loud from the hot pickup. I lowered it quite a bit to tame the sound of my aggressive muting to my liking.
Could also be worn out strings making it more harsh and clacky. I’m going to replace those today or tomorrow and do a full setup.
