Picture of the back?

yes it’s a wd800
Agree - Beaver sure has one helluva story…. Respect…
So the fingerboard is Ebony? looks very rich.
My first bass is a used Yamaha BB734a I got on sale! I loved the way it looked and it had great reviews online. I really like it so far.
Welcome to the club! I love mine, it’s my favorite bass.
I feel like some of y’all own music stores…all these beautiful basses.
Technically my first bass is a Ktaxon acoustic for $75, the kind of practice instrument you get for your kids knowing they may not continue. Quite some time ago when I thought I was going to get back into music I bought an expensive guitar but ultimately pursued another interest leaving the guitar in its equally expensive case sitting in the corner. Lesson learned.
So I played the Ktaxon for 10 months. But, this is my first bass guitar, which I bought just about 5 months ago:
I knew I wouldn’t go wrong with the brand and model, so I went with the color, which, for some strange reason, is listed as “sonic blue,” but reminds me of the 1950s mint green cars.
Yes, ebony with thin fret marker stripes and black painted tuner head. Really pleased with this bass. So many different tones can be made with the on board electronics. After replacing the rounds that it came with to Nylon Flats and re-adjusting the truss rod and string height at the bridge, this thing almost plays itself…. Loving the string through bridge which really makes those tones resonate forever….
Yes! Great bass, love mine.
It is the best natural material for Fretless fingerboard. It offers probably the best balance of tone. On fretted bass fingerboard materials aren’t that all important to tone. Fretless is another story because your string make direct to the fingerboard to make sound.
The Fender factory used old paint colours from automobiles as it was cheap, so that’s why it looks like a 50s car colour.
Because it was a 50s car colour
That is so cool! I had no idea. And thanks for including the link - I’m already distracted from work looking through it
Hi all, I just joined a few weeks ago. I stared out by building a few basses… now I’m trying to learn how to actually play them.
Wow, these are awesome!
Make sure you sign up for B2B if you haven’t already! Welcome to the forum!
Epic horn man. Kudos!
You know…
It’s difficult enough for a beginner like me having to cope with social comparison with all the talented musicians here,
without someone like you coming along, probably hiking remote, snow-covered mountains to chop down a tree and handcraft awesome looking, one of a kind bass guitars
A sincere welcome @troberts289. You are quite an artist. Those are beautiful.
