Lol, I have no idea, but I can tell ya, somethin like 6 hours i spent on that, mostly just on the neck! lol
Eeeeewwwwww. Cleaning used instruments is a process I actually enjoy. And sometimes⦠you throw up a little. People are disgusting creatures in some cases. Good call on the ultrasonic @Al1885. I needs one of those.
You havenāt lived until you see the CHUNKS that come out of and onto a sax swab when you get a vintage one that someone hasn 't cleaned.
Yes, that 's right⦠CHUNKS.
Haha, my buddy Steve uses āinterestingā in the same manner
Will the real Shell Pink please stand up
The Rascal has arrived. That bridge pickup alone is a sound. She sounds great. Well built, nice fit and finish. neck a bit glossy, finger ease will fix.
Iām going to upgrade the electronics, probably do stacked volume tone. The LaBellas should get here Tuesday. Going to be a good weekend.
I love pink.
Yeah swap out that 3-way switch with a blend pot too. Might need a reamer.
Real men dig pink things
Here you go Wombat
I wonder how many Bass Buzzers get that reference?
āTo Tell The Truthā @Barney got it!
@Wombat-metal is obviously an AMP fan
I do like AMP, but had not seen that one. Thanks @Barney
My comparison of the Fender Mustang and Squier Rascal
I wonāt get long and technical. I love both basses.
Fit and finish is fine for both, I have no complaints. Maybe better than my Sires. Well, one complaint, glossy necks but thatās easily addressed with a bit of Finger Ease
The Mustang neck is sublime. It is perfectly smooth. It feels like a Sire neck, seriously. The Rascal is perfectly fine with the fretwork. Just lacks that Sire touch.
The Rascal pups are monsters. No need to change. The Mustang I swapped out for DiMarzio Model P/J.
Ironically, the Rascal has a mustang style bridge, where the mustang has a typical bent angle bridge. I like the mustang bridge. Solid design, string through body, and super easy to find the sweet spot to palm mute.
Ergonomics, Mustang is smaller and lighter.
Playability - both. I know people knock the Rascal for being a big boi but the short scale neck makes a big difference to me. I donāt have to micro shift as much. I can play fretting on 3 frets at the same time which I cannot do comfortably on a 34" neck.
Both are great basses. Mustang gets a nod for ergonomics, out of the box the Rascal is a winner. For under $500 the Rascal deserves to be in any conversation, as @EddieJones said it punches above itās weight
And the 3 way switch is a piece of crap. Even a flat switch like you see on a Hofner or Bass VI would have been better
I have a Mustang. You note how the Rascal is bigger, but how comfortable is it when sitting and playing compared to the Mustang?
The Rascal looks awesome and sounds great in every video. I need to find one at a store to see how it feels.
I find the Rascal very comfortable to play. A thing I had to adjust to with the Mustang is with the small body, the angle to rest my right arm was weird. With the Rascalās size itās more comfortable in that respect. Bigger means it is closer to the size of a normal bass, itās not big by any means. Just relatively.
One thing do find I have to adjust to with the Rascal is with the bridge mounted more towards the center of the of the body, I find that I am playing with my hand over the bridge pickup more naturally. It takes a little thought to make sure to keep my hand over the neck pickup. Will totally go away with practice.
The body is the same as a Bass VI, which also has a 30" scale with a different neck. So it should be close to the same feel as a Rascal
Thank you for the GAS fuel.
