Show us your Practice Space

Yes I got it 3 years ago! I’ve always been fascinated by the theremin after seeing Jimmy Page use one in the 70s! The one I have has a number of presets and pitch correction but you can turn this down and select a classic theremin preset to get a more authentic sound. Anyway its a lot of fun and I can manage to play a few easy songs.

I can’t believe I didn’t know that. I watched some videos on YouTube now. I listened to those sounds and I didn’t know how he did it  I actually didn’t know one could use a theremin like that. I had mostly seen the traditional theremin being played. I love the sound of the theremin in the music theme of Midsomer Murders.

I found a cool video of someone demonstrating how he plays guitar with a small (pedal sized) theremin. It is about 8:20 minutes into this video:

I love his practice space too. It would be nice to live in a house (as opposed to an apartment) and have a practice space with good sized amps, and not having to worry about the neighbours.

I’m lucky enough to live in a quiet neighbourhood outside Oslo and neighbours who don’t mind loud music being played! My neighbour is a classical harp player and her husband an opera singer! I hear them practicing too.
And here is an example of some great theremin playing.

Did some rearranging as I’m figuring out how all of this works, slowly but surely getting it. @JohnF you were the test lol, sounds so different through this and headphones rather than the cell.

Very cool set-up, Ron! Quite the music room. Have you figured out your process to record some covers?

No sir not yet, I haven’t had much time to dedicate to it, plus I’m very tech challenged lol. I’ve gathered equipment from reading on here and I have a couple of friends locally that have helped in what to get.

I am the same way (tech challenged)…the moises part was intuitive, but it took some trial & error and some questions to the folks on this forum to get the scarlet and garageband process going smoothly and then after that to learn imovie to put everything together.

Yessir that’s about where I am now. I still don’t understand fully what Moises is yet. I have the MacBook , GarageBand, I think I have all the cables . My goal is to record my bass and drums one day and create a song maybe.

I have rearranged some things, added some guitars and amps, sold some basses. I still need to clean up the wall on the other side of the camera. One of my favorite new things is using the tool box as an amp stand. I have so much more storage space!

Very jealous of the size and the comfy, noise absorbing rug!

and lately I’ve been dreaming about selling our house to buy a bigger property where I could build a large barn or shed out back complete with bathroom and kitchenette so I can jam whenever I want without disturbing my wife at all. She’s pretty cool about it now, but this room is right under our bed. The barn might not ever happen, but I was seriously thinking about it for a little while.

Check out @Al1885 ‘s “sugar shack”. He’s got more basses in less space than anyone I know. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

It’s a blessing that I don’t have a barn. I’ll find the way to fill that up too, I have 3 sets of drums that I wish I could put up side by side, plus the keyboards.

Do it! Then it could be a BB meet up to jam out at @Paul_9207 place! :sign_of_the_horns:t2::grin:

I sit on a drum stool with my laptop in front of me and airplay the lessons or songs

I think that over-life-sized Josh would scare me a little bit  But otherwise great place :+1:t3:
