He was the most extraordinary teacher I ever head (in university). Everything floated his boat. He understood cognition on so many levels, that he made me dizzy!
The painting was just another thing he did. Impressive!

For beginners aspiring to become session bassists or get into a band, this is key. It is a job. I would just say remember to have fun with it though.

Maybe the most “fun” job I’ve ever held. Of course it had to be fun to keep doing it for so long because it sure as hell wasn’t for the $$$$. I needed another career entirely for that.

This thread illustrates the biggest thing I’d point out for beginning bassists:
There is more information out there than you can reasonably process.
So don’t worry too much about it. Put in the time. Keep making progress. Enjoy the process.
My biggest advice would be: Enjoy sounding like yourself. You will never sound like your favorite musician because you aren’t them. As soon as you play a line on the bass, that is YOUR line.

Given the buyer was a crypto fraudster, in this case it might actually be money laundering by someone unclear on the concept
