WELL DONE @justindneeley !!!
Great job on the fills for sure.
Timing was great once you got going, bit shaky out of the gate but quickly corrected, wouldn’t worry about it - your fills made up for it.
Somewhere around the 1:00 mark I thought I either heard the wrong notes or out of tune with the original bass track if not removed? Not sure what I heard.
Thank you for all your feedback on my submissions so far. Definitely is tough to get the timing super consistent but hopefully it becomes more solid as this journey continues. Yep, played a wrong note at that 1:00 mark but tried to keep it from showing on the facial expressions. I appreciate it John.
It’s time again. My second recording of this song. This time it feels weird, because I got the feeling, that recording number 1 was better?!?!?!?! What’s going on??? Did anyone else notice this phenomenon during their own recordings?? Am I a timetravel zombie, going back in time??
Thanks, @firefly! The fretless is cool, I think everyone should have one! It’s not as intimidating as I first thought it might be, for basic base lines. I’ll often use it to increase my interest levels in a song, or just for the hell of it. I’ve recorded a proto-punk cover on it (you can get it to “snarl”), and I’ve just recorded a pretty repetitive, but very rhythmic line, playing with a pick. It’s actually pretty versatile. I haven’t had the nerve to take it to band practice though
