Song 5 - "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC

Vimeo turned out to be crap for the AC/DC stuff… I switched to veed .io ( the link was edited … so it can be viewed now ) …

Vimeo wanted a PAID account just to make vids public… F that.

another great job!

Alrighty, new stuff comin’ up. =) My turn with this song. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:  It’s also on Vimeo, of course… what a bummer. :frowning: Still, I hope it’s fun and worth watching!

Recommendation: for best sound experience, use headphones and turn up the VOLUME! :metal: :sunglasses:

I am just about 4 years late for that…
:frowning:
Life got in the way and a lot happened, but really I got lazy somehow.
I suppose better late than never.

I am just figuring out how to record, video edit and sync everything.
Got a couple mistakes, but I can’t be bothered doing it again so here it is.

I tried using Rumble to upload as it seems Youtube is not working for this song.

I decided to get around AC/DC’s YouTube restrictions by doing a cover of a cover. So here’s Highway to Hell as performed by The Classic Rock Show.

If anyone wants to do the same, there is one section (to my ears anyway) where they swapped a couple of chords around. In Josh’s tab in the section marked Solo, the bar ending in G-D/A is swapped with the G-D/F# bar.

well played, and nice workaround.
You can also post to Vimeo to avoid this for them, Beatles, Eagles, Ramones, etc.

This was a really fun song to play. A little too much time spent standing around, but when the chorus kicks in it’s fun to play along and there’s enough variety to keep you on your toes. I’ll be coming back to this one for sure.

This song presents a few interesting muting dilemmas, like when you go from open A to the open E string. I used my plucking middle finger, which probably isn’t “correct” but I like how it felt with that little section. Josh talks about sneaky fingers in the lessons but I’ve tried using my ring finger but my brain doesn’t work. So the sneaky finger doesn’t quite work for me yet.

I think I was rushing at a few moments, keeping a consistent rhythm is something I’m working on.

I was actually thinking of making a bit out of it for my recording. Like stepping out of frame and coming back with a sandwich or something.

Nice playing!

Great job. Great playing. Great standing around.
