Song 9 - "My Girl" by The Temptations

Here’s mine! This one also gave me trouble, mainly because of the variations. I have attention problems, so I sometimes lose track of the song and couldn’t memorize it. However, it’s really fun to play, and I’m glad to finally be able to post it!

A little high in the mix but I did not mind one bit as your tone is GREAT.

Overall played very well, couple of very very small misses on staccato notes but man, you should be happy with this.

Attention and memorization are my kryptonite. You are not alone. Enjoy what you can do, not what you can’t yet do, some of this is helped a lot by playing a lot… a lot a lot. Way more than i have time to do. One thing I do is try to play the song in my head away from the bass or the music, envisioning the fretting patterns etc. I do it all the time and really seems to help me.

Good job all around!

I had trouble memorizing this one as well so I ended up using the version from Tom Read’s website. It seemed to stick in my mind a little easier.

Awesome job Talva! Very nice.

Indeed, when doing covers, I tend to bring the bass forward so it’s clearly audible, but probably a bit too much!

Thank you so much, it’s not perfect, but honestly, I’ve played it over and over again that I’m happy with it for now.

Regarding the tone, I’m very happy with my bass/effects chain settings in Reaper, yes! By the way, if you’re interested, I can share my .RfxChain file.
Thanks for the advice, I’ll try to play it in my head for the next ones!

@Professor
Thank you so much! It’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one having trouble! I didn’t know about this site, it’s great, thank you! Indeed, it works very well like that, not all the variations are necessary :slight_smile:

@JerryP Thank you so much :slight_smile:
