Adorable!
Beautiful pup.
You have an entire trail of records albums?
Oh man, Canada +1
Keep my big BabyGirl in your thoughts. I take her to the vet tomorrow to probably pass onto Rainbow Bridge. I got her in 2017. She was left chained up at a rental house with no food or water. She was on a 4ft chain and could not get out of the sun. She had spent her life on that chain. Once I got her, she was just a big old sassy girl. The most gentle dog I’ve ever had. She was an eating machine and we babied her so much. She started having mobility and balance problems about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday she could not walk and would fall down while pottying. I know she is miserable. Such a gentle soul. In the morning we make a trip to the vet. I hope he perform a miracle but she was already a frosted face girl when I got her. I think she might want to rest. Anyway, here she is in all her frosted face glory. The first and last pictures are her yesterday. I am tearing up typing this and will cry like a baby when she is gone. I have two more that are nearing end of life and this is going to be a rough period. I love dog’s more than most people.
So sorry to hear this @EddieJones . I know how rough it is emotionally to lose a pet under any circumstances.
Could this be a diet or environment thing? I don’t want to give false hope, but we had these symptoms with our dog and it turned out to be a tea tree oil ointment we were using. Went away completely when we stopped. Turns out Tea Tree oil has such effects on dogs and they can clear up completely.
Really sorry to hear this, Eddie. Dogs are the absolute best, far more empathetic and loving than the best human.
Keep babying her. Caress her, hold her, and let her do what she most wants to do: love you.
She is a beautiful soul.
So sorry to hear about this @EddieJones .
You gave her a great life by taking her under your wing.
I always wanted dogs to live as long as we do. Life would be so much easier
I got home and she came to the door to greet me with her tail wagging and happy.I have read older dogs can have balance problems due to inner ear troubles. I hope that it can be fixed and although I know she is old, she is loved so much. We are giving her all the treats she likes and talking to her. Good Lord it will hurt if I lose her.
I talked to a phone vet. My normal guy is closed Labor Day. They said it is likely she has vestibular disease which causes the symptoms she is having. It is an elderly dog disease and can be treated. I sure hope so.
So sad for you Eddie, this is so hard. You gave her such a good life and I know that doesn’t help right now
I hope so. Good luck
All the best to you and the sweet pup. I hope the vet figures a way to keep her comfy and with you for a long time to come.
@EddieJones I hope it’s treatable. This is always just so heart wrenching to go through. Keep us updated, yeah?
Well, it was not what we were hoping. She had a pretty bad stroke. She was so tired. I made the decision to send her to Rainbow Bridge. I was with her until she closed her beautiful droopy eyes crying like a big baby. She was the most loving gentle dog and she is loved and missed. Bye Baby Girl Jones.
Toughest thing to do.
So sorry to hear @EddieJones
