So sorry for your loss @EddieJones .
So sorry for your loss.
Words are inadequate for the feelings of sadness.
Her love will always be with you.
So sorry, man. She’ll always love you, and you her. If there’s a point to any of this, you’ll be playing and laughing together again.
She had such a tough life when she was younger. I made sure she was fat and sassy once I got her. She was the one that stayed near me in the bathroom, in my bass room. She would lay in the floor while I played. The other three would come in and out but she stayed as long as I was playing. She is so loved and will be missed. It feels as bad as when humans have died. It’s odd. People say they are just a dog. But they are like my children. Maybe that’s weird but I’ve always been like this. People at work are amazed that I am a Marine vet, worked as an undercover narcotics officer and have seen stuff that would make others puke. Yet the death of a beautiful loving dog nearly brings me to my knees.
Im sorry for your loss Marine.
Nothing ever broke me, not even losing close family members, but losing my boy, Zeus, did. I raised him from 5-weeks-old to 13 years. I feel you, man. He was my son.
Much love to you.
I adore our dog. I like dogs in general more than I like most people so I totally get it.
So sorry for your loss.
I’m really sorry @EddieJones Ive got this coming with our dog (cancer) and yeah it’s totally going to suck.
I don’t know why dogs only get 10-15 years and we get longer, it doesn’t cosmically speaking seem fair.
That’s terrible Eddie. Im real sorry you lost your buddy.
I’ve got three more. Two are older and may not make it until Christmas. One, the silky poo is blind and has respiratory problems and the little dachshund has breast cancer. The dachshund was a puppy mill dog that someone taped into a box and threw her out once they were done with her. The other was beaten so many times as puppy she hated humans and would bite. She bit me until she realized I wouldn’t hurt her and now she is an old lady living the life. Both are being treated but they are old and it is just a matter of time.
@EddieJones what a terrible way to start the day by reading this. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I know it matters little at this moment, but you gave her biggest gift in her life; you rescued her and made up for her bad start in life. She was loved, taken care off and no doggo could wish for more. Her closing thoughts were probably “what an amazing guy he is” and the rest of us think the same, for your actions towards mistreated animals
Shit, did not think I’d start the day crying, but when it comes to animals, I’m not able to hold back any feelings. Just like they don’t.
Sorry for your loss @EddieJones .
Cheers Brian
In essence, people don’t deserve dogs
Luckily, there is guys like you… and pretty much all of us here
I’m very sorry for your loss @EddieJones . I hope you’re as well as you can be at this sad time. What a wonderful gift you were for eachother <3
So sorry.
They Will Not Go Quietly,
the pets who’ve shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.
Old habits still can make us think
we hear them at the door
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them…
and always will…They will not go quietly
I lost my dog after 12 years about 6 months ago. I still have his leash on the hook. People ask why I don’t have a new dog yet - the old one hasn’t left.
I totally get it. I have a little part (leash, Paw prints, collar, etc…) of every dog I think I have ever had. They dig out a piece of real estate in our hearts.
Sorry for your loss @EddieJones
