It’s super famous but I haven’t seen it. There’s another famous more recent show called “Shinya Shokudo” that I also need to watch that has also spawned a couple movies. I think Netflix carried it under the name “Midnight Diner”.

You’re kidding me.
A Chef going to a Restaurant where they have to cook their own food? :astonished:

No kidding, lol. There’s one restaurant in Korea Town we love to go. They are notorious for lowering the grill, every Time the server walk by they would lower the grill temperature. One day right after lunch we all went to eat there in our chef coat. Since then no one touch our grill, lol.

I so massively love both Yakiniku and Korean BBQ. Fun social way to eat.

Yet another birthday dinner for my daughter, it’s the family dinner. She requested Peking duck and this is one of the most popular place. This is what happen when 4 adults order, lol. We had no room for the lazy Susan so we had to pack the soup and combine dishes to make room for their others.

Per usual, I started eating first before snapping the pictures.

Peking duck
Whole fried grouper with 3 flavor sauce
Pea sprouts with garlic chips
Shrimp fried rice
Mushroom with shredded pork
Pumpkin with salted eggs powder
Cold chicken with spicy peanut sauce
Honey walnut shrimps.
Special Taiwanese cauliflower with Chinese bacon.

Enough food to feed half the BassBuzzers on the forum, lol.

I think this is my first time posting in the food thread. My brother owns a creperie, but it’s almost four hours from where I live so I don’t get to eat there very often. But I was there today. On Saturday’s they have crème brûlée French toast. They only have it on Saturday and it’s in limited quantities, it’s my favorite thing in their menu. I did not make it there early enough to get it. But I did get the eggs Benedict. And we always have to get a few dessert crepes.

Crepe places are the hidden gem of restaurants. They are way too few and far between. There’s one near UC Davis that I always hit when out there.

aww man sorry, forgot

His restaurant is pretty good. Especially considering he was a police officer for 20 years. After he retired and wanted to keep working he decided to embrace his ability to make good food.
