Ultimate Throwdown of Ultimate Signature Models

Kicking off from another thread. Post your favorite artist signature models here. Only rule is that they must have at one point been generally available to buy.

I nominated Miki Furukawa’s SBV-800MF. I love mine, best bass I have ever played.

Hooky’s BBPH is pretty damn good too though.

(kinda starting a trend here of also posting a video of the artist with it and the original marketing material if you can).

That is a solid contender. Shazam!

I’m not sure I’d say a five string fretless is my favorite bass, but the Steve Di Giorgio signature bass is noteworthy enough that it should make the thread.

Also he belongs in the S tier bassists category for advancing an entire genre of music.

I dig the bass design. But that color, or any pinkish hue variant thereof, is always a hard pass for me.

But, speaking of Baums (not signature though), this is the bomb.

But I digress…

An interesting history to the colour pink. Wasn’t always associated as a feminine colour. I like pink, it’s not boring.

Personally, I don’t associate colors pink(-ish) with a particular gender, but neither do I find the hue palette particularly interesting or appealing.

But to each his own.

The Geddy Lee signature Jazz is pretty rad. Also the Daniel Firth Hellraiser Extreme 5 in Cthulhu Burst Satin. Love that.

I love my BBs. You know I love my 734. I don’t know that the PH should count though since it isn’t like, obtainable.

Sticking with Yamaha then it’s the BBNE2 of course.

Then of course I just seize the moment and make this mine

I’ve obtained the Mk I so far, working on the MK II now.

Somewhat fewer than 50 lucky bastards have it. I say that because you just know some ass owns like 3.

If I am thinking Warwick for signature models, there is only one option.

because every bass needs a DIN MIDI port connector for its lighting, right?

five out jacks too, macho.

I had some GAS for this at one point.

I still do. It doesn’t really match the music I play, but c’mon… Cthulhu Burst Satin? That’s all sorts of right-up-my-alley.

Now that I think about it Warwick should make a Kiyoshi signature Streamer Stage II.

Well… it has to be this one - the one that drew me into spending way more money on basses than I had ever imagined
