Very unique. Love it. Congrats @Regina
That’s a beautiful bass.
The color is an old tradition that started with Fender using a transparent white finish (sometimes called blonde). The color of the wood mixing with the white produced that light pink/rose coloring. Pretty cool they did that.
Very nice!
Beautiful bass. Enjoy!
That’s awesome. @Regina White body is awesome you can put so many colors to personalize your bass. The roasted maple neck is definitely eye catching to me it’s the white binding, lol.
Sire is a class act. Great build, materials and feel. A whole lotta bang for the buck.
Minor upgrade today. On the pink mustang, swapped the angle iron bridge for a Hipshot Kickass Bridge. Wanted the brass saddles for when I put the Model P/J on, and they just setup better.
While doing it added some copper tape under the ground wire. Half the time in doing the upgrade was looking for where I left the copper tape.
Those wonderful words, “Out for Delivery”
My Mustangs pickguard and stacked pots. Now I’ve got all the pieces, or will shortly
Woohoo!
After work I get to change my Rascally strings, with special Mustang strings (which means they are for 30" necks and strung through body with mustang bridge)
And finish getting the plastic off the pickups. Usually with pickups, the plastic film goes over the top and is easy to pull off. Not these humbuckers. The plastic is fairly heavy, goes around all 4 sides and then under the pickup and pickguard. They are wrapped tightly, and will be easier to deal with when the strings are off.
Man, LaBella is so smart making all these specialty strings.
Hadn’t considered that angle, but insightful.
Okay the LaBella’s are on, and it sounds fantastic. It’s not all hype, this is a really cool bass
Are McNelly pick ups any good? I’d like to upgrade the PU and pots in a used Squier Bronco I just bought. Found his kit online and seems like an easy swap with all the soldering done for me.
Recommendations for upgraded volume and tone pots for a passive single humbucker pick up?
I would get CTS pots and a Switchcraft jack. LOts of caps out there, Emerson a good brand
250k or 500k?
250k will give a fatter tone; 500k brighter. The wiring diagram for your pickup will have recommendations. For my Model P pickup, DiMarzio recommends a 250k tone and 500k volume. I went with 250k all around and it sounds great.
250k is a good setup to my ear. Check the diagram though. My Bass VI will be 1000k
I much prefer Bourns pots.
