You guys are great! This is awesome.
Great job guys! I really enjoyed that!
Great !
@JoshFossgreen I’m beyond grateful for where you’ve allowed to get to. Here’s my first gig. Sorry about the Iphone mic audio, hope it’s not too bad.
That’s a great rug. A gig rug.
Well done! bass came through great on the recording.
I’d never noticed Seven Nation Army and Sweet Dreams had similar bassline root notes before ![]()
I hope this is ok to put here. Not me but my son playing at a local hiking conference/festival. This is the first time they’ve played live together. Fun to watch him progress. He started playing with these guys about 6 months ago, he’s written the bass lines for all their original stuff. It was fun to see them play.
Did an open jam last night, I’m Tore Down and Going Down with Joe LiGreci band! (Don’t mind me staring at left hand, I really didn’t want to screw up. Lol)
Mecalimb Reunion Concert - A Few Highlights and Lessons Learned!
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share a couple of short video clips and some photos from Mecalimb’s reunion concert last Saturday.
I was incredibly nervous before going on stage, and honestly, there were quite a few mistakes made. But we got through it, and from what I could tell, the audience was mostly happy!
This was our first concert in 19 years, and I definitely learned a lot. One of the biggest takeaways? The sound you get in your ears during rehearsal is absolutely NOT what you’ll hear at a festival!
Hehe, that was a very useful lesson, as the first two songs felt absolutely awful.
I could only hear myself in my in-ears and barely knew where we were in the songs. Luckily, I managed to communicate a bit with the sound engineer, and things gradually improved. Eventually, my shoulders could relax, and I even managed to crack a smile. ![]()
If you want to listen to the old record:
Looking forward to the next one!
First official concert with my (cover)band SAMSPELT.
We played two sets and it was so much fun. Pushed my limits on some of the songs, made mistakes and just went on. I learn so much from playing in a band and even more from playing live.
Excellent first gig, @Johnnyb ! Your bass sounds great in the mix. I can’t see your amp. Were you playing through one, or into the PA?
Thank you so much!
I have an Ampeg Venture V3 that is conected to the mixer. Use IEM so we don’t need any ekstra sound on the stage, the soundguy is happy with that.![]()
So, you just use the head with no speaker cab. ![]()
How did you get the audio? It sounds a lot better than my efforts with an iPhone!!!
BTW, you guys sound great!
Just recorded with the iPhone; I had it standing next to the sound guy.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Yes, just the head direct to the mixer. Actually had the cab Ampeg Venture VB-115 on stage, but that was just for show and to have a table. ![]()
Hoping to have a video of last weekend soon!
So this isn’t a video yet but we just wrapped show 2/3 of what I’m calling our “summer tour” 3 shows in 3 weeks.
Tonight was an unpaid gig we played 1.5 sets to headline an open mic. It was stupid hot. Like, “is my amp going to work” in this heat hot. We were supposed to play on a nice outdoor stage but the weather had a different plan. We got moved inside into a corner of a bar but we still rocked out.
For what was basically my 3rd gig ever, tonight was special it was the first time people danced to MY music!!! I’ve been dieing for this for 9mo! We made people move ![]()

It almost made me start sobbing on stage. I was moved. After the show I thanked and explained to “my dancers” how they helped me cross off a bucket list item. So much fun.
So we played for free but we got invited back and got an offer to play at a paid party gig so I guess it all works out.
Playing music is so much work but it’s also amazing fun. Folks singing along, dancing and just forgetting about life for a while… that’s what it’s all about.
Anyway, here’s me.
Hell yeah! Super awesome, well done!
You rock !
looked at all the other videos … what an inspiration !!!
well done all - you’re clearly baddass ![]()
