I had my first gig yesterday! After six years of playing, wishing, hoping and praying to play in front of people. It was an end of year festival at our little high school. Two of the band members work at the school and we all have kids that go to the high school so it was especially fun to play for them and their friends. The kids were all a great audience!
This band used to play together over ten years ago, but their bassist became too busy to play anymore (he was the one who started the band in the first place). I finally got the call over a month ago that they wanted to do this festival at the school again. It was a great learning experience for me and hopefully we continue to play live music together.
Another bonus… I was able to talk my wife into doing back up vocals and playing keyboards for us and she killed it!
We had a set list of eight songs and pulled out an encore that we had only played once before and honestly I have only listened to it passively, luckily it was just one note the whole song.

Finally played live with a band. That was a mistake - now I’ll want to do it all the time!

I bought this five years ago to record covers. It worked pretty well for recording our live performance. It has a gain setting on it so you can record loud live music or normal stuff and still have good sound.
