Crazy…
Ooh maybe with a little influence from Animals As Leaders too.
Never heared about GGGOLDDD. Listening to it now. GREAT!!!
First time I heard (and saw) them was in 2022 opening for Amenra. That whole concert was quite an emotional whirlwind, Jo Quail, Gggolddd, Amenra
I will need to widen my musical horizon. Again
Unfortunately, there’s only 24 hours in a day…
Ah, GGGOLDDD is Dutch
They have a quite unusual sound for a Dutch band. They sound much more like an older Belgium band, in my opinion…
Amenra and Jo Quail is too “dramatic” for my taste. It reminds me of the good old “gothic” times, where there always was a dancefloor for the “witches” and other people that smell like mothballs
I avoided that dance floor and went streight for industrial and EBM…
Now that’s a pairing I would not have pictured. Was Caro Tanghe with Amenra on that tour?
Not that I remember
I really love a couple bands adjacent to Amenra (with members in the collective). Most notably, Oathbreaker.
ROFL I feel seen
Ok this song is fantastic. Right up my alley, maybe a little overproduced in the sense it could be dirtied up a bit and improve it IMO, but overall really solid.
Yeah, it has it’s moments. But again, too much drama. That was also an issue for me with some late industrial and EBM bands, when stuff became to “whiny”…
I always advised those bands to “man up” and listen to Front 242’s “Headhunter” ^^
A true classic, along with Masterhit / Masterblaster, which have much better lyrics
Ever check out Revco? Revolting Cocks? It’s like an early electroindustrial supergroup, and Richard 23 from Front 242 kicked in to their early stuff. Check out Big Sexy Land.
Of course I know Revolting Cocks!
Cannot play it, without my girlfriend giggling! (She is too young to appreciate the non-Madonna 80s)
Well, I do like drama in music. Music is a lot about emotions, otherwise we’d all be listening to Meshuggah
PS so, you should also like Neon Judgement, Alien Sex Fiend and Skinny Puppy, right?
Absolutely, Skinny Puppy is tied for my favorite band. ASF I mostly know from “I Walk The Line”. Neon Judgement was in a big bag of bands I liked a ton but never went super deep on; there were many of those early EBM bands like that.
Yes. Catharsis in particular. Post-Hardcore is up there in my favorite genres. I mean, Husker Du is one of my favorite bands and along with Minutemen are routinely cited as the first post-hardcore band. This is my favorite cover of all time:
Apparently Cros hated it
Maaaaaaaan, don’t know ASF.
Can’t wait for tomorrow morning and hunt for their music!!
