Kari Band
Originally of Boh, Mikio Fujioka and Yuya Maeta.

That song is dedicated to Mikio Fujioka, that passed away in 2018.

Boh’s comments on the song are:

I made this to capture my feelings about Mikio Fujioka. The melody is played with a twin lead consisting of a fretless bass and Tatsuya Nishiwaki on harmonica. The melody came to me in a dream, I remember scribbling down notes as soon as I woke up. I didn’t dare add guitar, I have to leave space for Mikio Fujioka to join us.

Mikio was the lead guitarist for Babymetal for years. Boh and Yuya were also in the band.

Mikio was a teacher of music, and was referred to as Sensei because of his knowledge of theory. After he passed the Kari band made recordings with students of his in his place, and one of his guitars often makes an appearance in a Babymetal show

I count myself lucky to have seen Mikio play, and at 158cm was one of the shortest shredders. He played with the biggest grin on his face.

A lot of the Kari Band income goes to his widow and children. Here he is in better times

I miss Mikio so much.

Ohumura and MLG(My Little God) Avengers made tribute DVDs of which sales go to Mikio’s wife and kid.

According to what is said, Mikio’s wife gave that guitar to Ohumura. Guitar he used in Babymetal, His solo project and MLG Avengers concerts & albums.

because it’s just that kind of morning

My bandmate loves Brian Setzer and bought his Gretsch because of him.

Hmm actually might need some more Minor Threat. Will keep it to myself.

Love Minor Threat. I grew up in the DC metro area so our local scene as teenagers was all based around that DC punk sound. By the time I was going through, Fugazi was the band and I’ve gotta admit, I’m more into them 30+ years later. Also your lack of Daisy chain for Satan hurts my heart a little :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: This time next week, I’ll be at a Bikini Kill concert.

Somehow missed replying to this but yeah that’s my fave TKK song and the one that got me in to them in the first place

The Devil Does Drugs/And This Is What The Devil Does is a close second, with Days Of Swine And Roses a close #3.
