What are you listening to right now?

didn’t think it was possible but this concert may actually be better than teatro metropolitan.

except narcissista

I missed these guys in my initial industrial/EBM college days, but recently correct that and quite enjoy the recent album _ Disturbance_

@devilcrayon Ooh I’d not heard of clipping, I delved a bit through their Bandcamp - nice :ok_hand:

Then I started thinking about Shadow Huntaz who I haven’t listened to in ages - the beats are more chilled but it’s glitchy hip hop stuff.

Yay more glitchy noisy hit hop!

My intro to the subsubgenre was Dälek (pronounced Dialect for whatever reason)

Yeah. Yasutaka Nakata is a genius of a producer, and his own band (Capsule) makes solid clubpop too. He’s probably most famous for being behind Perfume and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

The cool thing about him is he’s super loyal to the acts. He’s still producing Perfume and they are still releasing hits 14 years after that tour, giving them something like a 20 year career so far.

No! Will check him out, thanks!

Test Dept is solid. It’s been a really long time since I listened to them, thanks for the reminder

Here’s something off the normal path for Nakata

You can hear his influence in Aespa and G-Idle to my ear too

He’s done a pretty wide range yeah, some of his soundtrack work is pretty different too. Capsule’s early stuff also defined Shibuya-kei, when that was still a thing, which was sort of a lounge music version of city pop. Really really different vibe. This is what they spunded like before they went club techno:

The guy is definitely top talent.

Found a dude to jam with in my area finally and he’s got a pretty deep punk background.

Biggest influence is ATDI which got me going into a Spotify playlist.

Found these guys: https://youtu.be/FnytorJQ-OM?si=qW4CROREa5DYax2a

I just saw Master Peace at a new music festival - he’s described as indie rock and pop punk and there are a lot of obvious influences in his stuff but it was still fun to see live, he’s a great hype man. The bassline in this is chef’s kiss
