Listening to Kiyoshi a lot, Spotify finally gave me a Kiyoshi playlist that’s basically full of nothing but Japanese metal bands Baby Metal, BAND-MAID, HAGANE, Takayoshi Ohmura, lmao Deadlift Lolita, LOVEBITES, etc
My buddy showed me this video of the bassist from the metal band Death covering his own song. 6 string fretless insanity
All very good, and interesting, even Deadlift Lolita. Ladybeard is a character, and a very nice guy.
Jean-Michel Jarre, Les Chants Magnétiques (aka Magnetic Fields as it was labeled in the U.S., at least), from 1981:

I found this among my LPs, on the floor-level shelf of the cabinet that holds my LP collection. I was not able to find the album I was originally looking for before my knees and eyes gave up, but saw this and had no memory of it. So I played it; it’s electronic music. Looked J-M J and the album up. It’s interesting, but not sure what piqued me to buy it 40 years ago.
That’s the sound of my paper route as a kid. Sony Walkman knock off with orange foam headphone covers, riding round in the rain and turning the tape over at the end of side A. I couldn’t afford auto reverse. “I never knew such poverty existed” as my dear mother would say.
Is this a ‘second world problem’?
Why is there no second world ever mentioned?
Is it like a B size battery?
Or a grade of E?
Since you asked
Haha awesome!
They tend to rock out way harder than you would expect.
Looks like a generic superstrat to me.
He is known for playing a Bass VI on a couple of Cure songs, this being one of them.
The Superstrat comment was for the Juna Serita video Wombat posted, not The Cure. Did I miss a Cure vid? Yeah, Robert Smith plays a Bass VI sometimes, but he’s also not the bass player
Ah, my bad.
I’m guessing the classic “switch topics while replying” gotcha? Happens to me sometimes
Ever since covid and then a month of travel I literally have no idea what’s going on, lol.
Some asshole on my train the other day was coughing right next to me, white knuckling on his way to infect his workplace and anyone around him on the commute. I’m over two months out from covid; if I get it again I am going to be so pissed off. Triple vax plus actually having had it should help though.
I just got the bivalent booster, but I think my immunity was super high since I had covid.
I went on four business trips, wore masks on all the planes, but not really anywhere else.
Giant mega trade show in Germany with folks from around the world - no covid.
Big food engineering nerd conference stuck in small hotel conference breakout rooms for days - no covid.
Originally - sat in my car with my kid who apparently got it a couple days before at dance camp - boom, covid.
Coughing is the new smoking…
Bivalent booster a week from tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll make it that long
We had „all the fun“ last year just 4 days before Christmas. Nice holiday gift from Kindergarten…
Man, was I happy when I was finally able to smell and taste again… Morning coffee could have been dishwater, I wouldn’t have noticed. Slightly burned my Chili sine carne… Didn’t notice until I had to wash the dishes…
