What are you struggling with?

I have done the very same thing with my JBL EON 710 that sits next to my sofa playing position.

As it has it’s own DSP/EQ, I could just measure my playing position using REW (free software) and a UMIK-1 microphone.

The result is a very clean, non-boomy sound. It’s really excellent.
Also, cause the tweeter of the JBL is now not pointed at me, but reflects on the wall, it sounds much better in various playing positions.

If the Rumble 40 has EQ and you can measure the room and correct with EQ, I see no issue.
A cheap method to measure your room “reasonably” might be AudioTool for android.
