I’d be really interested to hear what multi-effects pedal you’re running, and why? I’m might be in the market for something new and I need inspiration!!
What ya got?!
(Sorry, really not interested in a single pedals…!)

I’ve been running a Line 6 Helix LT for a few months now. It is a full pedalboard replacement for both bass and guitar and is the size of a large pedalboard. It sounds fantastic and does more than I’ll ever use it for. It’s a bit older but is still supported and updated. With the new Helix stadiums out now, you can probably find them for a really reasonable price. I think they retail for $1200 brand new. I got mine for $750.
I still swear by my Zoom B1Four, I have separate pedals but this just works and the effects are predictable.
I have used it out in the wild and it is compact to carry.
You can play with the chains on a laptop etc.
I like that I can add a wah pedal.
I do have problems with hum if I try to add other pedals to it, but I haven’t put a lot of thought into solving that yet, so it may not be a real issue (perhaps as simple as separating the power).
I got a Sonicake Pocket Master because it was cheap and had many good reviews online. I’m considering buying the Ampero II Stomp.
Not quite a multi-effects pedal, but I have the Boss Katana Bass combo amp. Can do a great many different pedal effects. Can also be paired with the GA-FC foot controller to make it seem like you’re using actual pedals as well as expression pedals.
DG anagram and also on my mini board a valeton GP-5. the polar opposites of each other and both are excellent imo.
I use a Boss ME90B, because of price point. Also I am old and like knobs. Lol
+2 for the Boss ME-90B. I liked my first so much that I got second one for the other house.
I’ve only been playing for a year and this was my first pedal purchase. I didn’t want to build a board with a bunch of pedals and the built-in DI sealed the deal for me.
Zoom B2Four.
Was looking at the B1Four, but then got swayed by “two is more than one”. Got a good deal on it on a new one on Reverb.
Zoom b1four n b2four. Old and new. Easy-to-use everything there.
Sonicake pocketmaster with chocolate bar for easy gigbag trave sizel practice n tinkering only.
Pedalboard is another animal…lol
Started with Zoom B1 then moved up to HX Stomp.
I was fantastic but spent too much time menu diving. Especially in the world of amps and cabs.
So I sold it and went to the HX One. 250 pedals in one unit. Spent a year just working with that and learned what i liked within the Line 6 world.
Moved back to a bigger unit. HX Effects. HX Effects has no amps or cabs, just effects. Multiple pedals can be chained to make a patch. I can rename each patch to the song title in our set list. I can drag the order of the patches around to reflect our upcoming set list. At rehearsals / gigs I click on the first song and then just tap with my foot the next song on the set list to get that patch. Easy.
You have to be prepared to put a bit of work in with HX Edit i.e sit at your computer and edit pedals but it’s not insanely complicated.
Pros - Very powerful. Reliable. Sounds really good compared to say a Zoom B1 Four (but hey that’s a big price difference)
Cons - Expensive (I got mine on a Black Friday sale)
Set list in HX Edit for our next gig in a few weeks.
Zoom B2four. I had (have) the B1four and thought it was a super useful pedal, so I decided to “upgrade”. I also liked the idea of the built-in DAI (I was frustrated with the ASIO driver for my behringer). Thing is, now I only really use it as a DAI and amp/cab sim. I don’t ever look for other effects on it, never use it for drum loops, and I bought a tuner pedal so I don’t use that functionality either. But whatever, maybe one day I’ll play around with it more.
If you want to try the B1four, PM me and maybe we can work something out….
I still need to figure out how to use the B2Four as a DAI. I mean, I know the basics, but I need to figure out how to control the levels going into the laptop. I’ve been running the Zoom into my Focusrite for now, but that seems like an unnecessary extra step.
Is this for home use or stage use?
Anagram, Haven’t used it much, still learning!
Got me - I haven’t done much recording, but I just played and Reaper seemed fine… Are your levels low or something?
Both….
I have the Roland GR-55 it was in a bundle that I bought with my Willcox Sabre bass. I also have the Boss GT1-B. But the one I like the most for stage use is the GA-FC foot switch units that I bought for my Boss Katana 110. The simplicity and the minimal footprint on stage is just awesome.
We are not guitar players we don’t need to change tone every song.
I agree. Just throw on really heavy Chorus, slight Delay and a little overdrive and you are good to go forever ![]()
Zoom B3N. Decent price, programable, tuner, drums, looper
