Whatcha Watchin'? The TV Thread

I was smoking a lot of weed back then watching Twin Peaks. Those donuts did NOT help with the munchies. I’m glad those days of 01:00 hour cabinet raids are done with :joy:

Watching the classic “From beyond”, directed by Brian Yuzna. It combines two of my favorite things in horror; Lovecraft and Jeffrey Combs!

I’m a sucker for 70’s and 80’s horror movies.

MY FAVORITE. I am not even joking, this is one of my favorite movies. I want to sample all the lines. “He became the thing that ate him!”

“CRAWFORD!”
“So… Beautiful!!!”

A must see documentary for everybody that loves (70s/80s) music and very strange movies.
This documentary shows my youth in a nutshell … and made me aware how boring times (and me) have become!!!

@saroohoo & @faydout - I’m pretty sure you would like this!

Ooh looks good!

For those who can watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade - tune in to see my daughter marching/dancing with Riverdance!

She submitted an audition tape and was chosen to dance with the cast! Proud dad moment for sure.

Our latest watching experience

  1. Disclosure on Apple TV: well done, great cast, kind of intense, not a feel good type of show
  2. Silo season 2 is out: if you didn’t catch season one, you have a new show to watch. Awesome series, great adaptation from the books. Watching it weekly as they release new episodes.
  3. Landman: a little bit like Yellowstone set in the Texas oil fields, 3 episodes in, I really like it. Billy Bob Thornton is great in it.
  4. Tulsa King: good show, I’m a Stallone fan.
  5. The Mayor of Kingstown: Three seasons, if you haven’t watched it give it a try. Jeremy Renner does a great job.
  6. Ripley: super cool camera work, show is in black and white, we really enjoyed this one. Netflix.

Great world-building. Great attention to details. Tim Robbins is really good in his (enigmatic) role here.

Big deal +1 for “Landman”! Billy Bob is always great and he kills it here.

Aside: Sounds like you’re a Taylor Sheridan fan, as am I. “Tulsa King”, “The Mayor of Kingstown”, “Yellowstone”, and “Landman” are all his brainchildren. Great story lines and dialog. I’m looking forward to season 2 of “1923”. Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren were near me in Austin as the production shot s2 scenes for “1923”. :star_struck:

Also, huge recommendation for the “Ripley” series. Extremely well done. Gorgeous cinematography as well ans outstanding directing and acting. Much, much better than “The Talented Mr Ripley” film.

I didn’t know that Tulsa King and Landman were his. Not surprised about Landman, it has that same kind of feel. I really hope they finish 1923. I enjoyed the first season for sure.
