You got me hooked, but it’s on Hulu. Fantastic.
The SNL 50 music special Friday night was outstanding.
Been binging all the 50th anniversary stuff they have been putting out.
Looking forward to tonight’s 50th show celebration.
Grew up at just the right time for the original cast to inform my teen years. Pretty amazing, despite lots of misses, how much great talent has come out of SNL.
I absolutely agree.
SNL was must-see in the first few seasons. So much culture-propagating comedy and music came out of those seasons. And, while it’s true there have been missteps in some subsequent seasons, Lorne has worked hard to keep the flame of creativity alive.
I don’t give a rat’s ass about the 4 Nations Challenge. International competition just doesn’t excite me. And the jingo-istic crap that fans often make it into doesn’t help either.
I’m just looking forward to Saturday when the NHL comes back. And hoping that none of the Rangers get injured in the tourney.
Neither do I, the Canada / US game is the only one that I’ve watched or will watch in the tourney. To be perfectly honest, I was pulling for team Canada. As an Avs fan Makar and MacKinnon getting to play with Sid and McDavid. Holy crap, eh?
Is that because the last time the USA won the world championships was 1933?
I get why you don’t care.
I didn’t care back then, either. But for slightly different reasons (primarily the fact that my parents hadn’t even been born yet)
Cheer up though @Vader you won back in 1980 when Kurt Russell was the head coach.
And in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey.
Remind me who we beat then? Oh yeah, Canuckistan.
I didn’t care back then, either
My bad, you are correct. Hulu I think is in with Disney plus now…
A little more recently, the US won the World Juniors this year where Canadia placed… 5th-ish I think. Or last year when the US won the World Juniors and Canadia finished 5th or there abouts again.
Let’s get back to what’s important - a Canadic team hasn’t won the Cup in over 30 years.
Plot twist, I don’t watch hockey. It gets in the way of playing bass
Yeah but you’re not a real Canadian, right? You’re one of their former colonial masters?
It makes sense that the English instead watch the inferior version, without sticks or fighting, played on grass by people unable to use their hands.
You’ve got me curious, where does lacrosse sit in this description? I (and a lot of the Canadian hockey players I’ve interacted with) grew up playing both and it involves sticks and goals and blowing people up, but also a ball and midfielders and whatnot.
Lacrosse is a proper summer substitute IMO, as is roller hockey.
Water polo too, that gets good and vicious
