Not having watched a lot of GoT when it was hip, I doubt I want to invest in prequels, sequels or spin-outs etc.
Seeing that there seems to be a(n obnoxious) kid in a lead role just sealed it for me. Sorry, not my cup of tea ![]()

It was a pretty solid show actually, despite going off the rails and deviating from the books a whole lot. Top tier acting, casting and set design through all of its run. I would heartily recommend the first few seasons, just steer clear of the last couple.
The last two seasons are… mildly infuriating for those who have read the books.
(lmao Jaime and Bronn never even met in the books
)
Outstanding music too. Sigur Ros had an amazing cameo onscreen and moment in the soundtrack.
Give it a chance! I did not want to see it at first, cause I saw some snippets before, or so I thought.
Turns out it was Hercules, not GoT ![]()
When I started watching GoT it got to me. It’s not Breakin Bad level production quality, but it’s much better than most stuff you see on TV!
And: no Jazz ![]()
Does this board have spoiler tags? Cause I have thoughts about Game of Thrones, lol
@joergkutter is the ONLY one here that hasn’t seen GoT, so go ahead: please write your thoughts about it.
He can always choose to ignore your post ![]()
Getting really good at ignoring posts ![]()
A really wise move, man.
(Spoiler warning for @joergkutter)

I thought last couple seasons were incredibly hamfisted mostly, especially compared to the prior seasons, but there really wasn’t a whole lot going on out of character in my ever so humble. Anybody who didn’t see way in advance that Dany was eventually just going to rain fire and brimstone and death and destruction on all of her enemies wasn’t paying attention. She said it every time she opened her mouth. She said it to anybody who would listen. She said it over and over again ![]()

Honestly it started deviating from the books in S1, but by the last couple seasons it was so far off the rails it wasn’t even the same story.
He’s not the only one, but I think most of us that haven’t seen it probably have no desire to.
Also, the show ended 6 years ago. At this point, I don’t think the concept of spoilers applies.
Probably a safe bet ![]()
I took it in the spirit of playful teasing ![]()
However, there is an option here to blur text until you decide you want to see what it says by clicking on it. Like so:
I think Aria kills the bad guy in the end!
“the bad guy” - yes Arya kills a few of those
100% agreed! In one of the later seasons they travelled really quick back & forth too … something that took ages in the early seasons … with lots of time for character development.
Also: when Daenerys and John Snow finally, ehm, got together it had about as much sensuality as an old loaf of bread. WTF?
I wish, Aria had killed them there and then and would have spared the wild walker instead ![]()
I would have watched seven seasons of just Arya hanging out with The Hound and Tywin and Brienne lol
Also:
That’s hilarious. And also, that is a doorway-sized man.
In the books, Brienne and Pod are lynched dead by Undead Catelyn Stark in book 2 or 3 and no I am not making that up.
And then abruptly GRRM, as he does, just drops the whole “Undead characters following their undead king” subplot in the floor without further explanation and never ever revisits it again.
The books are very very different from the TV show ![]()
I’ve never read the books, unfortunately. I don’t think I have it in me to absorb that much story that’s never gonna get an ending until his nephew ghostwrites it or something in 2035.
It’s such a joke at this point
I struggle with child actors. I can’t stop wondering whose idea it was that they go to acting classes…
And I just find children in movies to be really annoying ![]()
But, I do kinda like the GoT universe, so I’ll probably watch it when it shows up free somewhere
