His technique is awful and I’m pretty sure he’s said as much. Something to the effect of, I have a hard time playing other peoples stuff, and people who play properly have a hard time playing mine.

I find his bass lines great … and hard to play!
Just finished ‘the death of bunny munro’, really enjoyed it. nick caves a genius, both musically and as an author. i can remember reading the book and thinking i wish theyd done ‘and the ass saw the angel’ instead but this series was certainly better than anything else ive seen lately.
in fact maybe dont do a tv series of ‘and the ass saw the angel’, you could never do it justice!

We don’t have a hockey themed thread but I just watched my Avs beat LA. We’re getting ready to go into the new year with 2 regulation losses this season so far. I don’t think this has ever been done in NHL history.

I am scared to even check in on the Sharks. At least one of my teams is doing well.
Sharks are the 2nd wild card right now, they’re having a good year (compared to the last few). Atm though, they’d play Colorado in the first round…

Avs vs Sharks 1st round would be a big bummer for me as they are both the teams I follow 
I watch all of the 10 minute highlight videos on YouTube. I was a season ticket holder of the Phoenix/Arizona Coyotes. Rooting for the Utah team just isn’t the same, so basically, if a Canadian team is playing a U.S. team, I root for the Canadians. If it’s the Panthers or the Lightning or the Stars, I root for the other team. I still have a soft spot for the Islanders, and what they accomplished 45 years ago. The Rangers may have started the high-speed game, but the Islanders perfected it.
By the way, the World Juniors are taking place in Minneapolis at the moment. That’s some pretty good hockey. There are 5-6 minute highlight videos of each game here: World Juniors 2026.

Bossy is criminally under appreciated imo. I’m married to a Canadian, we watch the WJC games as much as possible this time of year (Avs games take priority). Then the US plays Canada and I end up in the guest room when we beat them

I have a friend who is a Blackhawks fan (ew). Outside of that, she will always root for whichever team is from further north. She doesn’t like that there are teams from “where you can’t play hockey” I 've told her that doesn’t make sense because a Canadian team could have lots of players from Florida or something on it. And besides, they play indoors so whether there is ice outside or not doesn’t matter.

I was talking to my boss about the Avs the other day and how good a season they’re having, being a Vegas boy he is a VGK fan, and all I had to say is remember the 22-23 Bruins, who set the record for points and wins, and went out in the first round.
Being from the metro Boston area you can guess my loyalties.
Avs are fun to watch though, I try to catch them when I can

I saw many games in the Nassau Coliseum during their run back then. Bossy is one of the best sharpshooters I have ever seen.
Bit sad I am reminiscing about teams I watched 45 years ago though.

A lot of us die hards have been saying this for a couple of months. I’m enjoying the hell out of this run so far but you don’t win the cup for being awesome in the regular season. Our power play is horrendous. This last 5 game stretch (using 5 games because we’ve actually scored on the PP in the last 5 games, woulda had to go back a ways before that) we’ve scored 3 goals and given up 2 shorties. That is a definite area of concern for any post season run. To even start to get excited in the playoffs, we’re going to have to beat Dallas, which isn’t something we’ve done. Last year we were up by 3 with 10 to go in game 7… and lost.

My Dad is from Detroit, so I was raised a Red Wings fan. My Dad and Grandpa took me to the Joe to see my first hockey game in Yzerman’s rookie season. That was almost 45 years ago.

Yeah the Residence was really good. I would like another season, but I fear that they’ll just “copy” the first one in a different location instead of coming up with a different kind of case for her to solve.
