If you are only going to use it for the DI part, I am sure you could use the Guitar version. its the same price, and if you just use it for DI, should work.

Have you checked E-bay for them? or Guitar center, I know I saw some place a few months back for the regular price of $33. I will see if I can hunt it down.

Iā€™m just going to wait for the bass version because people are saying how much it improves the tone.
Iā€™m in no rush. Iā€™m on the wait list at Amazon, SweetH2O, and GC

In stock in SPAIN.
Shipping makes it total about 2x normal retail price, but IMHO it is still worth it.

They have been out of stock for 8 months or longer.
I am not sure how long you will have to wait.
That was the best price I could find, and at roughly double the price of one retail, it is still a good deal considering people are paying $150 and more for them (which is stupid cuz you could just get a SansAmp for close to that.

If you are going to spend that much go for a Tech21 VT Bass DI

(there is no need to spend that much)

Maybe Iā€™ll just buy a Sansamp then. Who knows. @howard and some others were raving about the Behringer one, but if itā€™s impossible to get, what good is that? (shrug).
Iā€™m sure I can find a decent DI for a reasonable price.

Thereā€™s tons of DIā€™s. Standalone DI, preamps with DI, multieffects with DI, etc. All depends on what you want. For your purposes the only two hard requirements are that it has a DI out (for your DAI) and a normal pedal out (for your amp) that is not muted when the DI is active.

Wow that is crazy! They are out. See used on Reverb for 60, itā€™s still a better deal than paying $200 for a Sansamp

The Behringer is the best pedal for the price.
It is the SansAmp, and there is no need to spend for the SansAmp
I was just saying that for $60 the one on reverb (price and ship) is a decent price for what they are going for today.

and @howard, I was not suggesting to get the SansAmp, or to pay $150 for a Behringer, I was just saying they are selling for that high, and that price is close to the SansAmp, so it would be foolish to get the Behringer for almost the cost of a SansAmp.

I think the new Sansamp for $200 has added a mid control which is the only difference.

If I were even looking at any Tech21 DI product it would be a used VT Bass DI.

Mine was just a bit over $100 before I fried it.

My head is spinning with all this DI stuff. Too much information.
I think Iā€™ll just leave my setup the way it is and get back to being a bass player.

Itā€™s kinda like when people first tackle Billy Jean. It is achievable but seems daunting at first. Easiest way to think of it is just a pedal that can plug into your DAI.

LOL Billie Jean is easy compared to deciphering all the technical gibberish and what DI to buy and what not to buy. The best one is this one, but you can 't get it. The next best one is this one, but itā€™s too expensiveā€¦
Iā€™m getting a headache from all this. Iā€™d rather play Billie Jean 20 times over than think about this DI stuff any further LOL

Yeah I hear ya lol. The BDI one we recommended is more a pedal that also happens to function as a DI, and it is a fantastic pedal if you never used the DI feature. So it was a more ā€œmight as wellā€ suggestion. But anything that is just a DI would also solve the specific issue you are having.

good choice.

In fact, doesnā€™t your bass amp have a DI built into it?

the reason weā€™re discussing this is itā€™s a funky problem she has because Fender inexplicably wired the Rumble 500 to put the master volume before the DI out, so to get an adequate level on the DI you need to crank the amp

Nevermind that no one would want that ever, itā€™s what they did. The master volume is before the EQ too! So weird.

Ok, yeah, that is strange, I wonder if there is a hack to add a switch to make it pre instead of post?
