This is a pretty badass interface, obviously especially so for Bitwig users (and it comes with a Bitwig license). The CV interface in/out is a nice touch and for people with CV-controlled or controller gear, just a killer feature - especially factoring in The Grid in Bitwig.
I use Bitwig Studio (along with Studio One Pro) and, yes, the Bitwig Connect DAI looks awesome for it. But…I simply can’t use a DAI with controls on the top. I’m on my 4th home studio since retiring, and I’ve never had or been willing to dedicate the space for a mixer or a DAI with controls on the top. When I finally decided to spend the money on an RME, I went with the Fireface UCX II instead of a BabyFace for exactly that reason. It was $600 more expensive, but I’m super happy with it. In my current setup, it’s under my monitor with my Lenovo Thunderbolt port extender sitting on top of it.
That said, if I hadn’t already bought a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 to use with my new MS Surface Pro 11 Elite (ARM), I’d have seriously considered a Bitwig Connect instead of the Focusrite.
Honestly the bitwig integration looks great. I love Bitwig, but one thing it suffers from in my experience is being kind of fiddlywith the mouse control for some stuff, most notably zooming. This would be awesome for that.
I could also probably map the wheel on my KeyLab to do similar but it would have nowhere near the level of deep integration this thing does.
The audio in/out variety, routing and blending on this thing is kind of next level too, though not at the level of a mixer.
All in all it’s really killer. Good thing it’s so expensive ![]()
I just noticed that it’s buss-powered, so you’d need to connect it to a USB port that can deliver the power needed, especially if you’re using a condenser mic that requires +48V phantom power.
For all of its features, I’d say that 499 € is a fair price.
Yep, no worries there.

Absolutely. Assuming it has good preamp quality this is definitely a midrange interface, much more capable than those in the consumer price tier.
I am GASsing pretty hard for this thing considering I have no use for it and have a perfectly good Mackie mixer I am using now ![]()
Not gonna get it, perfectly happy with my mixer which is more capable in many other ways, but capability-wise this is a damned good looking interface.
it’s because it’s orange. dammit they had to make it orange.

Yeah that’s Bitwig’s thing. It’s color scheme focuses on various shades of black and orange.
Looking into getting my first DAI so I can record. Suggestions? Idk if I need anything fancy. Just trying to record my bass. But it’s better to have and not need, right?
budget is low currently. max is probably 150ish?

For just under $100, the PreSonus AudioBox USB 96 25th Anniversary is a great choice. In the past, I’ve owned 2 PreSonus audio interfaces. Both were really solid. For around $150, the Focusrite Scarlett Solo is a nice little box. I own a Scarlett 4i4 that I use with my Surface Pro. Focusrite interfaces are well-built. My main interface is an RME that’s 10x the price, so just a little above your price point. ![]()
Thanks. yeah. the last one sounds a little TOO much like better to have and not need ![]()

One important aspect of choosing an audio interface is the quality of the ASIO driver. Both of the DAIs I mentioned have solid drivers with solid support.
PreSonus AudioBox USB 96 25th Anniversary
No, it’s not - sorry!
I had it and had lost of issues with it … latency etc.
I have a Presonus ES4 now, so my remark is not cause I dislike the brand. It’s really a dreaded experience.
A very cheap and simple DAI is the Zoom AMS-24.
It sounds great, is very portable, robust and cheap. I use it outside and in the park. You can use it for any devcie you have (also mobiles).
It’s very very very stable (drivers), in contrast to my previous Motu M4.
I know, it looks like nothing, but I couldn’t be happier!

One thing to note about MOTU - they are always gonna be one of the best choices for Macs.
Those guys are old school Mac developers, going back to the '80s. Digital Performer was one of the best Mac DAW options for a lot longer than Logic Pro. Like, I wanted it back when I was still playing live as a synth player.
So if you are on a Mac, I would not be at all afraid of checking out the MOTU gear.
So if you are on a Mac
Yeah - I use Windows machines.
To be fair, one of my PCs is a wild beast and not easy to configure. Everything - except the Zoom - had issues, until I removed the terrible Asus Armoury Crate.
Now everything runs fine.
Still, the PreSonus AudioBox USB 96 25th had issues on both my audio notebooks, also on the one that is usually care free.
Whatever you do: don’t get that one!

I’m jelly
