Where are you guys from?

Okay…I was born in 72 too…trying to remember my 5th and 6th grade teacher. Mr. Morrison maybe? And strangely - the only student name I remember from back then is Tommy We****… Ah wait - and a Michael L too. But that doesn’t have as much suspense around it in a conversation with someone’s screen name of t_dub…I haven’t thought about those times much in a while.

Yes, Mr. Morrison, is it possible we had a class together?
I remember Michael Li.

Crazy if we were in the same class. I mean, I don’t remember switching classes back then - I feel like we had Mr. Morrison the whole day. We did a stock market simulation - I bought a stock with my name - Cris - as it’s ticker. It did not do well. And people had to bring in a million of something. And someone brought in a screen door, with the idea that it had a million holes in it. I liked that. I just had a dictionary with over a million letters in it…that exhausts my memory. For some reason, I feel like the Tommy I knew’s birthday is on Flag Day. That came up cause it’s Trump’s birthday too.

Yeah, I am pretty sure we had the same teacher all day in 5th and 6th grade. However, I missed about 6-8 weeks of school both of those years. The first time I injured my knee playing soccer, slid tackled a guy and he rolled over my knee and hyperextended it. Had a surgery and was on crutches and in bed for more than a month before they let me go back to school on crutches.
6th grade, pretty much same story, but I injured the knee jumping my bmx bike. I pulled up off the jump too hard, and flipped the bike out from under me, had about a 2-3 foot drop, and I landed on my left leg with my knee locked, and hyperextended it.
That was a slightly more complex reconstructive surgery, as there was far more damage to the joint. I still got back to school after about 8 weeks.

So, I don’t recall the project you are referring to, but it is entirely possible that it was done during the time I was at home on the mend.

T is for Toby, and dub is for W

Native Detroiter, which explains my affinity for all things Ron Carter. Moved to the suburbs after the 1967 riots. Started my teaching career in Los Angeles, then back to Detroit for 30 years with a one year stint teaching in Traverse City, Michigan. Retired from public school teaching, then taught test prep for nine years until I fully retired a few years ago.
Now living in western Wayne county, Michigan.

Please respect my privacy during this difficult time (:joy:) it was a rough one, man. Sure am, but I made the Philly sac-religious move to Jersey, but Philly will always be home. Nice, I have some family out in KOP area.

My ex was from there and spent a lot of time down there.

I never actually knew this thread was here. It’s a good question. The answer is, i don’t know.
Colorado birth certificate, Nevada social sec. Number, father says i was born in California.

My family maybe wasn’t real law-abiding (or sober)
So we moved around-a lot. California, Nevada. Arizona, Michigan, Illinois, Colorado.
When i was 12, went to Nebraska and had an address for tax purpose there for 25 years.

But I’ve always been a traveling worker. I followed the money. Staying in one place didn’t work for me.

Needed a new hip, and was pretty tired of the road. So now i live in kokomo, Indiana with my girl and her family. Never happier, never wanted to be in a place more.
