Rickenbacker or thunder bird? Both are not my cup of tea are you after specific tone? I notice both offer similar warm tone.

If both basses have a similar tone, would it make sense to go with the one that feels better in your hands?
Doesn’t the Thunderbird have a narrower neck than the RB?

Selecting a musical instrument is somewhat like selecting a pet cat. When you put the right one in your hands, you’ll know it.

Play test both before making the call. Don’t crowd source the decision. The forum bunch are nice people, but asking them to pick your instrument is akin to asking them to pick your girlfriend. We all have our preferences, and they might not be your preferences, so…

Good luck whichever way you decide.

The best bass for any new player is the bass they love most for whatever reasons that be.
The bass you use daily and when your away from it you hunger to embrace it.
This best bass is not a marriage but a lover you crave to caress, this relationship feels forever but in time your wondering senses may see and hear the beauty of another.
When you become drawn to another it it may not because of a dying love, but from a growth within that now wants to explore the love of another.

Agreed totally, this should be a deeply felt personal affair.

Your spending your time talking instead of playing.
Bass is a hands on game, if you want to play - play.

If yak and spu outweigh playing bass your right, but it’s not the type of thread that helps me become a better bassest.

dood … lighten up… humor… is a thing.

harsh much?

Let your bass do the talking.
Play more bass is my moto.

so that lets you shit on others? bad look man.

This isn’t what this community is about.

The guy asked a question. It had nothing to do with wasting time not playing.
I think you need to check yourself.

Neat that you edited everything out AFTER you were called out. Blocked.
