Women on Bass

Her band is more famous than she is, but Hettsu. Hanabie is the next breakout band internationally

I obviously don’t mean there are literally no humbucker basses being played, but the 5 string J-J is definitely the dominant bass type I see, with P-J a fair ways behind and everything else relatively uncommon.

Yeah its a thing; lots of use even in harder styles.

Gojira has been P-J for I think every album released so far and they’re plenty heavy for me. Mudvayne’s bass was a Warwick active J-J and they’re also very heavy.

Plus the dingwall pickups that are used all over the heaviest current music are reverse P in a soapbar cover.

Oh P’s are perfect for hard styles - I meant lots of J/J 5’s are used for them here too.

Nixie of Dogma! I saw them 2 nights in a row! I had a ticket for Ft Lauderdale on the 6th of November. I just happened to be working in Orlando and noticed they were playing there on the 5th, so I found myself there!

Victoria De Angelis came on to play alongside John Taylor at Duran Duran’s Halloween show in Manchester. She’s an amazing bassist! She played alongside JT on a cover of Psycho Killer, and on Wild Boys. It was bloody brilliant!

Sadly, not my pics! My pics were cr@p!!

Yes, I was thinking that. I googled the mod, but can’t really find anything on it. Three pick-ups, but still only two knobs, unless they are stacked…?
