I was wondering the same thing. Firstly I thought there was something strange in those pictures. Then it it hit me, the third pickup. And no knob for it. Interesting. The new pickup is screwed on the top (the lipstick pickups are screwed to the backside of the bass).

One of the knobs could be a switch. 3 or 5 way. Like a strat.

He has a 12 string Yamaha he plays in shows that is mind boggling! If you ever get a chance to see King’s X go, he is amazing!!! I don’t think he looked at the fret board during the whole show, lol

dUg Pinnick is a terrific bassist and frontman. King’s X is one of my favorite bands!!

I always saw Pinnick with Hamer basses. I’ve seen King’s X many times,…..they hang out with fans after their show. One of the reasons they have such a loyal fan base.
They are very humble guys.
