Yamaha trbx604 experience and opinions!

Hello beautiful people! I am buying a new bass soon and I am eyeing a Yamaha trbx604fm in a Matte Amber finish! looks sexy and I managed to find a shop that has it at a discount and I can get to test it physically. All of which I consider a win! But, before I pull the trigger, what are Your experiences with this bass? any alternatives?(that is not ibanez, no offense) I would love to know!

It’s a beautiful bass, you cannot go wrong with these basses. I have the dark red burst and I absolutely love it.

The only one I’d considered in the price range would be the Sterling Bongo.

I loved my 604, it was my main bass for years. Absolutely a good instrument, as is the 504.

I just purchased the exact model last December and I love it.

I’ve had my TRBX504 a few months and I’m still a “noob” and working through the Badass course.

So I’m no expert, but the TRBX line definitely gets great reviews.
The build quality is great on my TRBX504 and I also took it for a proper setup.

It holds the tuning really well, so I’m not wasting time on that constantly.

I nearly pulled the trigger on the TRBX304, but went with the 504 because of the better pre-amp and pickups.

You know the saying: “Buy once, cry once…”
If you have the money, just buy it :+1:

A very wise choice

It’s a great bass! It’s good that you can play it and make sure you like the feel and tone as everyone’s different for what they prefer. I almost got a 605 in that colour but somehow ended up with a Sire M7, i’m not even sure how that happened

It’s hard to go wrong with an instrument from Yamaha, they’re solid in pretty much every category they’re in. I think i have 7 Yamaha instruments and i’m very happy with all of them

It was used. It has a small blemish on the back of the body near the neck joint, otherwise, it’s in excellent condition.

I love my 504 in satin black. Great action and thump. Unless you’re set on a specific color or finish of the 604 , the 504 is a better deal.
It’s less $ for the same bass aside from color choices

Close. IIRC it’s also heavier (though both are light) and has a mahogany body vs alder/maple. But yeah, very similar instruments. I was actually shopping for a 504 when I bought my 604.

I just like the wood combination both, aesthetically and tone-wise(there’s a slight difference in the sound to me but, that’s just me) I also prefer the 604 because to me, the 504 looks a little plain…(yet again, just me.) except for brick burst though! and the 604 is just a teeny-weeny bit lighter, yet again…just me.

Gloss finish vs satin, plus the flame maple top does look great yeah. Love the Dark Red Burst, it’s gorgeous.

Some people think the 604 sounds brighter (likely due to alder vs mahogany) but I never really noticed.

I’m eyeing the indigo blue atm, that’s really nice.

Yeah neither it nor the caramel brown are available here in Japan, they look like export only colors. Really pretty.

yea, their pretty, but where i’m buying one from doesn’t come in those finishes, even though they are available. :frowning:
