That looks fantastic. Iām getting more and more convinced that I should get a Yamaha bass.
One of the condition for you is the 24 frets right?
If not the BB734A is the top choice for me you get so much for that bass.
I have a BB734A. It thumps but to be honest I play the 504 more.
My work is done!
I love both instruments. The BB734A is definitely a more pro level, higher tier instrument in terms of features, but the actual quality level between the two is the same. Yamaha does an outstanding job with its midrange basses and both the TRBX 504/604 and the BB734A (and really the 434 too) easily compete with basses at double their price or more. If people prefer a more Jazz Bass-like neck the TRBX will make them very happy indeed, and its stock humbuckers are some of the best I have owned.
Really excellent instruments and I do miss my TRBX from time to time.
I actually bought both my Yamaha bases on recommendations and reviews from you Howard so I have to thank you. Great advice.
Howard must be getting one helluva commission from all the sales heās making for Yamaha here on Bassbuzz!
I know! I mean like throw me a bone here
Love mine, great tone. Using 1/2 rounds from DāAddario and love the smooth feel and the sound they produce.
I have the 605 and absolutely LOVE it! Itās my first purchased bass. Played on some Fenderās and Ibanezās , but this was the first one I bought just for me, new. Best purchase Iāve ever made! Beautiful color, great circuitry quality, holds tune well, feels good and has good weight, and passive/active both sound excellent to me. I put some La Bella Flats on mine, and they sound (and feel) great for a jazz/funk sound. Still a beginner by a long-shot, but I hope to have and enjoy my TRBX-605 for MANY years!
I have the 604 and itās perfect for me. There is nothing I would change about this bass.
I can play it for hours, itās comfortable, the neck is thin, and quite light.
You have the active/passive switch, 3 band eq, and sounds great.
Itās my first bass, so not like I have much to compare it too, but I will 100% recommend it!
I have the translucent black and it looks amazing.
The picture and my fingerprints donāt do it justice
Bass Porn everywhere on this site.
Itās such a deceptively cool color that doesnāt photograph nearly as well as it looks. I love how it goes to more deep blue/grey in the maple āflamesā.
I liked my Dark Red Burst more, but it was close - the black one looks amazing.
I really want to see the new blue/green āindigoā one in person.
Iāll give that one a gander!
The BB734A is a truly great bass.
Funnily enough, I was torn between the black and red one until the last minute
Glad to read this thread on the TRBX604. I think I have located a used one (black) for a decent price. Trying to decide on that or get a new shiny one. Thanks for all the great info.
I just took delivery of the 604 in black. It is a fantastic instrument. Very comfortable. I was also thinking of a short scale, but seriously this is so light and comfortable, that it may have solved that GAS concern. It is the first new bass I have purchased, and find the strings too bright for my liking. I guess that will mellow out after time. What strings are you all using on your Yammy? Also, if I leave it in Passive mode, but still have a cable plugged in, will it drain the battery? Thanks.
