What ever you do , do not lose a wrestling match with a can of garbanzo beans
On the very last day of a 21 day animal free challenge , I rewarded myself with 5 stitches to my ring finger. The whole reason for sharing this mishap with you all is to ask this question.
Does your ring finger aid your pinky finger when playing an octave ?? I never realized how I lay my ring finger on top of my pinky. Last but not least , never realized how often I use that ring finger. Opening doors , grabbing items from my pants pocket , holding the stirring wheel , and pulling out the water filtered refrigerated water jug.
But the worst part of this whole experience was that flipping tetanus shot!! Son of a witch with a capital B
Be Safe Out There & Beware Of Those Cans Of beans ,
Cheers
I’m a righty, but no damage here except for a blood blister next to the callous on my middle plucking finger cause I was a little overzealous on trimming my nails the other weekend.
Are we all like wounded right now? I’m three weeks in to mine and just starting to be able to use my right arm for stuff. Stopped wearing the sling Monday.
Still can’t bass though as my plucking hand forearm is full of blood from the internal wound and now hurts more than the bicep rupture does
@Wombat-metal , Same!!
I wasn’t even aware of this and I am amazed by how often I normally use my ring finger while playing. Playing just OK with my index and middle only. Not as flashy but will get our trio through the gig tomorrow night.
My gosh , a few years back , I miss trimmed my thumb nail and talk about a problem. That poor sucker hurt for days on end. A little trim and it took me out.
I have arthritis in my fretting pinky and now actively avoid using it. Prior to that I’m pretty sure I never backed up my pinky with my ring and actually used my pinky a lot in many years of guitar playing; I seemed to find that most hammer-ons and pull-offs tended to be either first finger or pinky. However, post arthritis I first found out how useless my ring finger was, and then, after some time, it’s beginning to be a little more effective.
Oh and ouch, that looks like it may take a while to heal. My sympathies!
Thanx !! The challenge really opened my eyes and my palate. Thoroughly enjoyed adding in the fresh herbs and trying new spices. I doubt that I will stick with the true vegan lifestyle because I love local honey in my tea or in my oatmeal.
However, zero desire to bring dairy back into my wheelhouse at this point. And I definitely miss a tasty craft brew while manning the BBQ.
Finger feels good and the stitches come out Saturday morning. So Thats Cool
Damn You Old Age !! My heart goes out to you and arthritis totally sucks A$$. And interesting , I do not believe that I have ever performed a hammer on with my index finger. That is pretty dang cool.
Thanx for the positive vibes. All the best in your world and keep playing while you can.
