Hi, no It doesnt really mean anythingā€¦

Im a vegetarian for well over 25 years now and have been thinking about veganism for some time , but I like real mozzarella on my pizza so probably not gonna happen. :pizza:
So i became a part time vegan/ full time vegetarian

I can do vegetarian for any amount of time (have done it for over three years total in the past) but I can never last more than a few weeks of vegan.

I do love meat though and have embraced being omnivorous at this point.

I could probably live without meat but not dairy, yogurt is a staple in my house. And cheese, but not together.

Iā€™ve been vegetarian for going on 50 years now but my total addiction to cheese, butter and milk means Iā€™ll never make that final step to vegan!

Yes, exactly that

Hello @qenden ,

I agree and disagree with respect. Early in the challenge , friends were over for dinner , I made two Thai Peanut pizzas. One with VEGAN Mozzarella and Soy Curls. The other was complete traditional with chicken. Visually , the only difference was that the vegan cheese didnā€™t really melt like the dairy cheese.

Taste wise , not a single person could tell the difference. Now , back in the nineteen hundreds , vegan cheeses werenā€™t all that great. But now , top shelf.

Again , not a vegan here , not changing anyones mind here , and not projecting how great I am. Simply sharing my new found tasty buds.

Be Well Brother ,
Cheers

Hello @howard ,

That is my hang up , I love to BBQ dead animals. What I have learned with this vegan challenge was adding the herb combos and what veggies marry with what item.

Plus , will definitely crave Turkey this Thanksgiving. But Mon-Fri , I can go dairy and meat free. I Hope Anyway.

Stay Strong ,
Cheers

Hello @Wombat-metal ,

The dairy free yogurt is pretty dang delicious. I have been making my own yogurt for decades not have refused to buy store bought yogurt because of all the unnecessary additives.

Also , oat milk has forever replaced Half & Half in my coffee. But again , not trying to per sway anyone elseā€™s model of the world. Just sharing my observations.

Enjoy your Weekend ,
Cheers

Yo @HighlandBass ,

Grandma always said ," Never Say Never."

Really dig the plant based butter and that is quite the surprise to me. However , I totally understand were you are coming from. I really miss the rich Vanilla Ice Crean from our local Graff Dairy Farm. Like Really Miss It

Stay Strong ,

Josh Man @JoshFossgreen ,

I forget , are you vegetarian or vegan?? And do you have a goto dish when company is coming over?

Also , todayā€™s pentatonic lesson was totally righteous. As Always !!

Thatā€™s one I will be trying next week, heard a lot of good things about that! Another small changeā€¦.

Ugh, that looks painful! I hope it is healing fast and fully!

I would say there is enough biological/physiological evidence that man is omnivorous. Still, man also has ā€œfree willā€ and thus we can make choices.

I very much understand vegetarianism and veganism for ethical reasons; not really so much for health reasonsā€¦ (even though also this can be the case on an individual basis).

What we should strive more towards is avoiding processed food as much as possible - those are much more detrimental to health than meat and dairy products etc.

Exactly!

A while ago, I was curious to try plant-based ā€œtunaā€ - wow, that was so terrible, I couldnā€™t get myself to eat it. Quite disgusting reallyā€¦

Iā€™m not a vegetarian, but I have no qualms about enjoying vegetarian meals. One of my favourite raman dishā€™s is a vegan Miso ramen. And Iā€™ll often go for veggie pizzas because I prefer the thick pile of slightly crunchy veggies and cheese as opposed to the sloppy grease oozing concoctions that are most meat topped pizzas.

Thai peanut pizza sounds incredibly intriguing.

Hello @joergkutter ,

That is my biggest question at this moment is FULLY. A nice clean cut and the pad has healed beautifully. The side of that finger is still scabbed over but is beyond tender.

I am completely undecided and absolutely not at all starting a confrontation with you by any stretch of the imagination. The studies presented to us regarding cheese and colon cancer has been remarkable. Again , I am no physician but the other fact that rocked me was the dangers of carcinogens.

My own data from labels landed me at around 110 grams of protein per day , 47 grams of fiber per day , and zero trans fats for the 21 day challenge. Couldnā€™t believe how easy it was to consume , discover , and taste proteins without BBQā€™n. And 100% , avoiding process foods is key.

My challenge wasnā€™t about a crusade , saving Mother Earth , or telling others what they should be doing. This challenge was an eye opener on two fronts; canā€™t believe how animals are so prevalent and how monstrous portions of meals have become. Now both of these are sort of off topic.

Lastly , havenā€™t come across plant based Tuna but will stay clear of it. Even sounds rough to be honest with ya. But good on ya for giving it the old college try.

Thanx a million for the intel , insights , and feedback

Be Well brother Man ,
Cheers

Would definitely agree on the two choices and happily landing on the veggie slice like yourself. The Thai Pizza is a dish I make a lot during the Fall and Winter seasons. All the Miso soups rock and thatā€™s been a main staple for decades. Also , a have been known to add a scoop of miso to a variety of meals. So Good

I encourage you to make a homemade pie soon. Any topping you want. If you try the plant based mozzarella , fantastic.

Have a delightful day ,
Cheers

Mucho respect for this. I justā€¦ canā€™t

You know what though I think I do prefer vegan pizza crust now. And you can make a vegan marinara that is more or less indistinguishable from a ā€œrealā€ one, and marinara pizza is definitely legit pizza, like top shelf.

Then again, I am also a Milanese style enjoyer and sorry vegans but thats gotta be real cheese.

Itā€™s all good - I never saw your comments or meant my comments to be confrontationalā€¦ really just adding to the conversation

My gf is allergic to dairy so Iā€™ve had the non-dairy substitutes for a lot of things. The butter, cream cheese, and sour cream are so quite good. I prefer oatmilk to real milk for cereal now.

I think in general the cheeses suck compared to real cheese unfortunately, especially if you try to melt them. I have to get a torch to melt cheese over burgers and it doesnā€™t taste as good as a Swiss or cheddar, and the texture is odd if you try to eat the cheese with crackers.

Hello Mr @joergkutter ,

Thats Fantastic!!! These days I feel as if I need a disclaimer when we have discussions or difference of opinions. I definitely took your words as adding to the conversation and I appreciate your perspective.

Plus , I know that you have been apart of Bass Buzz for many moons and you are a straight shooter for sure. I do enjoy and have learned from this forum. And itā€™s always helpful when others chime in while creating a brain storming environment.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend brother man ,
