Your thoughts on Songsster?

Besides learning theory and all those wonderful lessons here, would you recommend Songsster to have some fun inbetween ? Or are there other sites or apps which do something similar ? THANKS from Real Belgian Fries & Manneken Pis country.

I like Songsster but I don’t like the subscription model. If you are like me the Guitar Pro 8 is probably better for you. You can buy your song and own it for just a few bucks each.

Here is something I just learned, @Al1885, just on the off chance you don’t already know… it is drop dead simple to export a song from Songster into Guitar Pro 8. Like… 2-3 clicks or so.

Wait, you can subscribe to songster then port your songs over to GP8?

Yep, the download button on the bottom downloads the tab in *.gp format.

If you don’t have a subscription, past the URL into this:

https://www.songsterr-downloader.com/

It will download the GP file…

Yup. But on mine, I don’t have a download button there. I have to go to the revision and then download the revision.

That might be different on songs without revisions, though.

I guess the only thing you lose with download and GP is the original song. Everything is played with synth. But to save $10/month, it might be worth it. Cool.

ok that answer my question. on the bright side GP8 allows you to sync to original audio but only on the desktop not iOS and it can be a pain to do so too, :joy:

Anyone using the iOS legacy subscription? it’s half price and iOS only. What’s the difference beside that?

Oh, I do see it is doable with a little work. Still for practicing GP might be better than Songsterr premium. You can sign up for a month…download a bunch of tunes, then cancel. With the money you save, you can buy a new bass! Yay.

I don’t have any experience with the AI generated music sheet so I have no idea how. I might spend ten bucks to find out.

Find one that isn’t in Songsterr yet and lemme know. I’ll queue it up for you to generate and you can see how the AI is that way.

Actually, here’s one that you might not hate that I queued up (most of the ones I generate aren’t going to be songs you’re going to like).

Wait… wut?
I love songsterr but 90% why is for the youtube sync. And their stubbornness at not letting me create 5 string alternate tab tracks on existing songs and then having a mod nuke a separate 5 string version I created ‘because there should only be one accurate tab per song’ which is straight up BS for a ton of songs on there ticked me off.

Off to go poke at gp8 which I also own.

Ooh, it works! This is awesome, thanks Al

I finished my transcription on lonely town in France.

I’d love to see how i stack up against the AI. Let me know I’ll post mine up later.
Thanks.

I don’t know this one. Is Lonely Town the band or the song? I’ll need both to generate the tab.

I just kicked it off. I gotta go walk the pups and I’ll check and publish it when I get home (if it’s done).

I was just going to comment how much Theo looks like Jason Statham in this thumbnail. Clicked on the video, and that’s the first thing they mention, LOL.
