For an IPad?..
Apparently ToneLib is better (I never used GuitarLab so I can’t say).
The looper is the one thing I have not used. I see no value in recording myself for 30 seconds. I just use my DAI and DAW to record myself when I need to.
There is one for the Mac OS. I’m not sure if it would work on iPad… I don’t use Apple stuff so I don’t know
No, I need iOS🙁
Well… get yourself a decent computer then.
You will need one when you want to make some music anyway.
Not gonna help you on stage.
So, how would a 30 second loop help me on stage then?
@Howard I have looked at ToneLib and it looks interesting, but I’ve never gotten into it because it says after 30 days I would have to pay for it, but doesn’t say how much. I don’t want to spend time learning how to use something and then after 30 days get a surprise bill for hundreds of $$$$
Ask Jacob Collier!
Okay, next time I run into him in a pub I’ll buy him a and chat him up about it.
Ha! He’s right though, loopers have nothing to do with recording. They are about this:
and this:
etc
GFX and Jam cost money. Tonelib Zoom is free AFAIK.
You’re right, I was think of Tonelib Jam not Tonelib Zoom. My bad
Do you know how much that Jam one costs? It looks rather interesting
You should really give it a chance, it is so much fun. Start by laying down a basic little groove with plenty of space in it. Then play around with different things over it until you find something that compliments it really well, and then overdub that part onto the loop. Repeat they process enough and the creation takes on a life of its own. I’m addicted to it.
Looping is for having fun in real-time. Nothing muc o do with recording, but you could record if you like. You could loop with our recording equip I am use, but it would take some set up, can’t really do it on the fly, anytime, anwhere.
I can record on my Ipad with Garage Band, or other DAW apps, a compatible DAI, like the one @PamPurrs is gonna sell me ( lol ), a Camera adapter, or IRig type of input, and there is plenty of cloud storage. A new MacBook is money not spent on 4-5 Basses, and or 2-3 Basses and some pedals, and \ or lessons with josh. Hahaha
Yes, but the same amount of fun can be had with Reaper, in a home studio environment… and that’s what @PamPurrs does. I have to admit I prefer that approach over using the Zoom looper myself.
@T_dub I’ll private message you about that
I can confirm that. and, even if there are musicians in the public, they will be drunk too anyway.
Not me, Iam the permenant designated driver.
